maybe they could make a Green Tea party.
"let's just pretend bigotry doesn't exist because I'm not the victim of it due to me being rich or middle class, white, straight, male, and christian"
So if I was a black, impoverished, gay atheist would I have a better understanding of the world?
So if I was a black, impoverished, gay atheist would I have a better understanding of the world?
I'm almost entirely certain that the answer to that question is yes, assuming you didn't commit suicide or get killed because of society's views of you. You certainly would not be as successful as a white, straight, christian male, that's for sure. Prejudice is subtle but it affects everything.
We do not have a enough gold to support every single dollar that we have in circulation.
Thats the point, Advocates of the gold standard don't want the government to be able to print money endlessly and devalue their currency.
Zeke you have to realise even if Ron Paul became president tomorrow half of his crazier ideas wouldn't even get through bureaucracy will slow everything down to a crawl
the whole idea of being bipartisan is just stupid a bipartisan system just divides people, it makes things completely black and white; a case of us and them. one of things that made america so strong during its toughest years was how united it was. i mean, what happened to united we stand, divided we fall? the democrats and republicans need to get off their asses and work WITH eachother instead of AGAINST eachother.
Zeke you have to realise even if Ron Paul became president tomorrow half of his crazier ideas wouldn't even get through bureaucracy will slow everything down to a crawl
This is a hypothetical situation where Ron Paul gets voted in and instantly everything gets Paulized
This is a hypothetical situation where Ron Paul gets voted in and instantly everything gets Paulized
Even Obama, who actually had a chance of getting in due to being in mainstream politics (and he did get in) did probably not even half the things he was going to do and lets face it, pretty much maintained the status quo.
Thats the point, Advocates of the gold standard don't want the government to be able to print money endlessly and devalue their currency.
the people who benefit from the gold standard most are wall street bankers
Wow I hope this doesn't end up being 2000 all over again.
He's both He wants to repeal the civil rights act to let businesses discriminate against minorities, he wants to ban abortion and gay marriage, he wants to privatize everything, and he thinks the gold standard is a good idea
He doesn't want to ban abortion and gay marriage.
He doesn't want to ban abortion and gay marriage.
He wants to leave it up to the states, and state governments don't seem to be a huge fan of either.
He wants to leave it up to the states, and state governments don't seem to be a huge fan of either.
That's true, but his motives aren't to ban those two things. It is a flawed political idea, but it doesn't mean he just wants to ban shit.
How does forcing people to hire people of a certain color advance civil rights? Do you realize how many fucking things get past the FDA and OSHA, they don't do jack shit. I don't necessarily advocate a gold standard, but I advocate a monetary system that can be physically backed up. Also, it's not like we would be consuming gold, we would be saving gold in fort knox.
Hope you realize that racial quotas have already been deemed unconstitutional. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] Also removing the Civil Rights acts would pretty much create a mild Jim Crow south again. Also removing the FDA would mean big fat chunks of rat shit in whatever your next meal is bon appetit
You have an extremely distorted view of the world. It's almost as if you think everyone in the world is racist and out to exploit other people. I am not arguing with you in here anymore, you are either the best troll I have ever met or insane.
I think that you have an extremely distorted view of the world. It's almost as if you think everyone in the world is out to help each other and just get along. Unfortunately, that's not how reality works.
So if I was a black, impoverished, gay atheist would I have a better understanding of the world?
Well, those who can look on the outside-in typically have a good understanding.
I think that you have an extremely distorted view of the world. It's almost as if you think everyone in the world is out to help each other and just get along.
Its both if you ask me. sure money creates corruption every were it is but you still see a lot of people giving to charity and hoping to help the world.
Its both if you ask me. sure money creates corruption every were it is but you still see a lot of people giving to charity and hoping to help the world.
Well yeah, a lot of people think it's black and white.
Healthcare and DADT repeal are quite radical given the political atmosphere in the states.
Exactly why none of those things have not been put through yet. and i dont consider a watered down compromise of anything a success
funny how being a liberal is often mistaken for being a stuffy elitist cunt tells you something
I didn't know that. I think conservatives are far more elitist
got my vote
We do not have a enough gold to support every single dollar that we have in circulation.
I guess it's time to slash a Zero [editline]24th January 2011[/editline]
Hope you realize that racial quotas have already been deemed unconstitutional. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] Also removing the Civil Rights acts would pretty much create a mild Jim Crow south again. There... There may be hope just yet.
I guess it's time to slash a Zero
Not that easy.
Not that easy.
Why not?
funny how being a liberal is often mistaken for being a stuffy elitist cunt tells you something
When did being poor or a hippy become known as being elitist?
Why not?
Do you want to be able to trade with the rest of the world or no if you artificially fuck with the value of your currency nobody will want it anymore.
Do you want to be able to trade with the rest of the world or no if you artificially fuck with the value of your currency nobody will want it anymore.
whoa whoa whoa, china can fuck with their currency, but if America wants to remove a Zero so they can peg it to gold, not even introducing a new currency, just slashing ONE zero, it suddenly fucks up everything?
If Senator Sanders gets back into this I'll be loving this completely. Bipartisan, bi-ideological, and anti-corporatist. Ah, America, you have given me hope.
