I just rung my Japanese friend to make sure he was okay after the Tsunami and all he did was go on about his social life.
Just kept going on and on about a huge rave.

Dunno if its legit or not but meh
Sorry about the joke couldn't resist but seriously;
2000 Rads is the average yield of 5km nuclear warhead.
About 500 to 1000 RADS is enough to kill a human. it takes between 1-5 days for the radiation to kill all the cells in a human body. About 50,00 to 100,000 RADS causes death within minutes or hours. We're talking end-of-raiders-of-the-lost-ark radiation levels.
i imagine that's a worst case scenario
at least i hope so

Gonna need a lot of rad-away..
I hope so too, considering I'm in Nevada that could end bad

Oh great, I live in Edmonton, I'm just reached by that. Wonderful.
Also, British Columbia is fucked.

Dunno if its legit or not but meh
Not from any legit source, but it seems a logical path for a potential cloud of radioactive isotopes to take, with regards to prevailing winds.
I'm going to bet that the radiation released is going to be about as much as Three Mile Island - enough that the health risks are only statistical. You might see a few percentage points more cancer in the area over the next few decades, but you won't see another Chernobyl.
Hopefully not another Chernobyl. Three Mile Island wasn't bad because not a single worker gained more than 50 MREM at the place. For people that don't know, MREM is the unit of measurement for radiation. The US says that it is ok to get 350 MREM over the course of the year and at 50kMREM, you get radiation sickness.

I sure hope it's not.
I hope Japan pulls through with this one.

Worst case scenario? A building just got obliterated and the reactor is leaking like a sieve

That's actually a secret plan that Japan had planned for a very long time, in order to gain avenge America.
On the serious side, I strongly doubt that chart is very accurate. Nuclear fallout would also be distributed to other parts of Asia, not towards the East exclusively, as there are zero nuclear settlement shown in the surrounding of ground zero on that map.
Ok, this is confusing, Can some one sum it up for me?
Worst case scenario? A building just got obliterated and the reactor is leaking like a sieve
You better hope it's worst case.
California evacuation alone would press the US. All the western states? We're looking at bankruptcy if they can't go back for a while.
Worst case scenario? A building just got obliterated and the reactor is leaking like a sieve
just because i said it's a worst case scenario doesn't mean we can't already be at that level of bad

we're all fucked

Earthquake messed up reactors cooling system, no coolant available, Hillary Clinton confirmed U.S will be providing coolant, high temperatures affecting reactor, explosion happened early morning, containment building obliterated (or turbine room), recently found out reactor is leaking like a sieve, potential an additional huge scale disaster

Yea, after the A-Bomb was dropped during WW2, pretty much all radiation went around Japan and towards China.

All that will kill all the fish and mutate the others :ohdear:
And It will flow everywhere.
oh shit, I'm in the range of that explosion. Should i go on a trip if the explosion happens? somewhere for a month?

Yeah...It seems Hillary wasen't updated with the fact that japan told them to "stay the fuck out of it"
So yeah, U.S isn't sending coolant to the plant at all.
.
Ok, this is confusing, Can some one sum it up for me?
Everyones fucked, a reactor assploded and them imploded and went up it's own ass and left us to deal with all the fallout.
Also the waters fucked, use chlorine pills and stock up on radaway.
Also get the jury rigging perk.
Sources say the explosion was purely a steam pressure explosion that made the walls of the plant weak, the nuclear material wasn't a direct cause of the collapse of the surrounding walls

The real question is: is the core exposed or not and is it on fire?
Radiation levels on inside are 20x more than normal level (still low-ish)
Officially confirmed that radiation has leaked. From Reuters
Radiation levels on inside are 20x more than normal level (still low-ish)
Not bad, I guess. Still a big problem.
Not bad, I guess. Still a big problem.
How exactly isn't that bad?
How exactly isn't that bad?
Because it's only 20x normal?
