when?
Now!
I hope the other reactors don't end up like this, otherwise Japan is absolutely fucked.
Or do the Russian Sacrifice, expose thousands of workers to dangerous levels of radiation and build a moratorium around the reactor.
Don't think that'll happen again. However jesus christ , saw the footage of what appears to be the whole goddamn thing exploding.. .. japan is really in the shitter now
Now!
Fucker, I was gonna post that, but I read the thread instead. On topic though, Holy fucking shit, what the fuck is going on. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] Can I get a Video link from someone?
Don't think that'll happen again. However jesus christ , saw the footage of what appears to be the whole goddamn thing exploding.. .. japan is really in the shitter now
Pray to god it doesn't happen. The reactor though in Japan is smaller than Chernobyl, so we don't have to worry about as much radiation, but we should still worry.
Or do the Russian Sacrifice, expose thousands of workers to dangerous levels of radiation and build a moratorium around the reactor.
I'm afraid that might just be the only way to solve the problem.
I'm afraid that might just be the only way to solve the problem.
And how do you propose they do? Japan isn't a Stalinist regime with the ability to thoughtlessly shove it's military at anything it desires damn the consequences.
Holy shit, that building fucking blew its damn top.
Pray to god it doesn't happen. The reactor though in Japan is smaller than Chernobyl, so we don't have to worry about as much radiation, but we should still worry.
More importantly Chernobyl was caused by a power surge.
I'm afraid that might just be the only way to solve the problem.
Horrific to think about. Even If you lived through working near the reactor and getting all that radiation, all they gave you was a medal and pretty much said "Good job!"
The Japanese still expect the real event, assuming that this was just the foreshock.
Source, N-TV Live
Source, N-TV Live
what jesus christ i know jack shit about earthquakes so i assume the real event would be even stronger?
If they had to spray it down with concrete I wouldn't be surprised if they quickly make or adapt a existing robot/s for the task. Maybe that wacky technology can come in handy!
HYPER RESCUE UNIT Any need for the terrible names, that's due to generations of Pokemon, anime etc.
[img_thumb]http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/438/fallout.jpg[/img_thumb] Dunno if its legit or not but meh
my friend and i are arguing whether or not this is from a legitimate source...driving me crazy. anyone know if this is real or not? how do you rate this disagree? seriously i didnʻt even say my stance on it
my friend and i are arguing whether or not this is from a legitimate source...driving me crazy. anyone know if this is real or not?
it's not from a legitimate source, but it could be accurate
my friend and i are arguing whether or not this is from a legitimate source...driving me crazy. anyone know if this is real or not?
May not be real, but in the worst case scenario it would be accurate.
More importantly Chernobyl was caused by a power surge.
If memory serves it was because they were ironically doing safety drills and pushing the plant to it's limits to make sure that it would survive a worst case scenario.
Lesson: Think before you place a nuclear reactor on a tectonic plate-border.
Before/after explosion: It blew the whole fucking walls.
what jesus christ i know jack shit about earthquakes so i assume the real event would be even stronger?
If the that earthquake was just foreplay then for the next one mother earth is getting on the fishnets and leather and brining out the bullwhip for the main event. :quagmire:
Lesson: Think before you place a nuclear reactor on a tectonic plate-border.
Poor Japan, but ever played Sim City? You know when you put nuclear plants close to your city or other countries across the border? They would get pissed, everyone would be angry and upset, same scenario, in real life.
How do they know there is going to be a bigger earthquake?
How do they know there is going to be a bigger earthquake?
Just the Japanese think the 8.9 quake was a forquake and their still waiting for the real one, but seems doubtful. But I can't confirm my specialty is engineering etc. not geology. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] To think I could have done Nuclear Physics instead of Aerospace Engineering :(
Oh, so it's just them going all Negative Nancy. [editline]12th March 2011[/editline] Boo hoo we got hit by an Earthquake, a Tsunami, and now we have a Nuclear Incident. We're probably gonna get hit by an even BIGGER Earthquake tomorrow. :crying:
Oh, so it's just them going all Negative Nancy.
Waves apparently going to him up to 3m according to them but Geologists are saying its unlikely for tsunamis to occur again after the initial earthquake, but Japan differs.

So, are they thinking they might get bigger aftershocks, or another quake like the first one or what? [editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
shut the fuck up
Dude, relax. My heart goes out to Japan, but I don't think they are going to get hit by "The Real Earthquake".
So, are they thinking they might get bigger aftershocks, or another quake like the first one or what?
Sometimes before an actual earthquake occurs you get a forquake before the main one, then you get aftershocks in between each one, Japan thinks that 8.9 was a forquake and the main one will happen shortly etc. but I don't understand the logic in this, an 8.9 forquake? More tsunamis? Doubtful wait and see.
