HD Video of the explosion.
If the 8.9 is a "Forequake", then I'd hate to see the Main event.
So, are they thinking they might get bigger aftershocks, or another quake like the first one or what?
a foreshock is before the "main event", which would more than likely be larger magnitude some foreshocks can come years before the main event. i'm not sure who exactly is saying this might be a foreshock, is it the Japanese government?
Yeah, does anyone have a source on this Forequake stuff?

Oh hey, you know how I said "I'm scared" on the first page? This is now my worst fucking nightmare.
I live in Oregon, and how bad would it be if the fallout got here?
I woke up and I was all like "is it dealt with" and I saw the news about the explosion and I was like ohhhhhhhh shit.
Bunch of "SHUT DOWN ALL NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS NOW!" being shouted on youtube.
Yeah, does anyone have a source on this Forequake stuff?
foreshock, not forequake
TEPCO says to hold presser at 10:30 GMT
Should get a fair bit of info from that.
I live in Oregon, and how bad would it be if the fallout got here?
From Warshington up here. Edit:
foreshock, not forequake
Whatever.
Evacuation zone for the plant has now went from 2miles to 6miles to now 12miles (20km) Holy Shit.
-snip-
Madagascar is now building a giant titanium dome around itself.
Bunch of "SHUT DOWN ALL NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS NOW!" being shouted on youtube.
Wouldn't make difference, where is the energy going to go? Is Godzilla just gonna come over and eat it and pass out?
Stop reposting that image, arghh
From Warshington up here. Edit: Whatever.
I'm sure your teachers love you.
I guess that crazy old coot was right about the world ending this May.
I litterally woke up to this explosion, TV was still on from mindlessly watching last night. I really hope the radiation doesn't hit te fan, naturally some radioactive shit was released but let's hope it isn't the core or some shit. Atleast security is tons times better compared to Chernobyl so that wouldn't happen again. Right?
Twitter Earthquake Feed Those are really.. D:
<That overused image>
If it was official, wouldn't it be in Sieverts or mSieverts? They are the SI units...
Official evacuation zone increased to 20km, but news teams can't get closer than 60km (ground). EDIT: That's from both plants too now. EDIT2: Apparently just the first plant. Second is still 10km.
I can't understand why the earthquakes are still happening. Can someone explain? I know that they happen when a tectonic plate slides under another when building pressure but why does it keep going?
Aftershocks.
I can't understand why the earthquakes are still happening. Can someone explain? I know that they happen when a tectonic plate slides under another when building pressure but why does it keep going?
Cause tectonic plates are huge, and they have a lot of momentum.
Evacuation radius at Fukushima nuclear plant has been increased to 20 km.
Wouldn't make difference, where is the energy going to go? Is Godzilla just gonna come over and eat it and pass out?
The comments on Youtube meant all Nuclear power plants everywhere. :v:
