It's live and it's still new, wait for a bit.
Apparently there was a strong aftershock in Fukushima about 15 minutes ago
6.4 earthquake, near the east coast of Honshu, Japan. Mar 12 10:15pm at epicenter (20m ago, 33km NE of Iwaki, depth 38k…
Urgh, let's hope this doesn't turn out as bad as Chernobyl.. which it probably will anyway if it does go into meltdown
ALL OF ASIA EVACUATED NO MORE WEEABOOS :v:

You are dumb.
You also don't know the meaning of weeaboo.

You are both fantastically stupid and misinformed at the same time, it is frankly delicious.
Weaboo's aren't asians, and this will not be as bad as Chernobyl because the situation seems to have been resolved now.
They should just take a hint from the overclocking gods and pour shitloads of liquid nitrogen all over the place.
If that shit can get a P4 to 5.1GHz, it can stop a nuclear reaction.
You know what happens to most matter if it receives too high temperature changes too fast right? Especially metal and concrete.

The meltdown wasn't what caused chernobyl to anally rape the surrounding area, it was the fire after the meltdown that set fire to the carbon that was used to block radiation, and when it caught on fire the smoke spread the radiation.

Well, now we known an ignorant idiot is possible :v:

Yea, that's what makes Chernobyl diffrent than all other catastrophes. The radioactive cloud of smoke traveled across Europe, so that means that there's no way that shit will happen unless the remains of the reactor hall will get set on fire.

Im going to point this out again, the radioactive spread from chernobyl was minimal and theres no evidence to show that it killed anyone, other than the firefighters involved in putting it out.

Well yea, but it still spreaded radiation.
Well yea, but it still spreaded radiation.
There's no evidence that the radiation was even slightly high enough to kill anyone. There wasnt a dramatic increase in freak births, nor was there mass radiation sickness. Sure, it spread some radiation, but the fallout is nowhere near as bad as everyone believes
Oh great, I live in Edmonton, I'm just reached by that. Wonderful.

Coal power puts out more radioactive material.

Hence why I said the surrounding area :v: No idea where he got europe from, but at least he knows some things about nuclear plants, more than I could say about the majority of this thread :v:

Than using uranium? Where are you getting those numbers, coal plants are pretty much giant steam engines.

Actually, animals in the northern regions of Norway still have to be checked for radiation before they are allowed to be made into meat.
It might not be as bad as everyone are saying, but it would still be pretty bad, and believing that it hasn't helped cause any cancer in all those people living in Pripyat would be bordering on ignorant.

Well I was always teached and told that it went across Europe, but it wasn't anything bad.
How can't they cool down, I mean aren't they already under like 5 feet of water? :v:
the fact that it blew up worries me :ohdear:
How can't they cool down, I mean aren't they already under like 5 feet of water? :v:
water isnt cold enough
Well at first I was going to assume that this would be put under control however I can't make any promises now. We are all aware that a blast occured and a meltdown is now in progress. All we can hope for now is that it remains contained inside the pressure vessel or at worst, remains in the concrete basin underneath the vessel. My assumption is that while they were venting, They didn't vent enough and the heat exchanger probably packed it in, If that's true then they lost all cooling control over the reactor, hence the meltdown.
The other assumption is that they had a hydrogen buildup somehow.
Actually, it is kind of strange that a hydrogen buildup was one of the biggest fears at three-mile island as it could of done what happened today at Fukushima.
Personally I demand a press release.
Excuse my ignorant ass but what does a meltdown entail?

In the immediate area around pripyat, yes, i can imagine there was some effect (Apparently the vegetation is completely messed up :v:). But im talking generally about the spread of the radioactive material through europe.
No idea about norway animals :v:

Eh, it wasn't anything huge, just a little over the usual radiation level traveling in a cloud of smoke.

The entire reactor melts, releasing a huge amount of radiation basically.
Get a room you two, this thread is for discussing the possible nuclear disaster, not solving your obvious relationship issues.
