Read up on history. The CCC helped the unemployed to work for public communities by planting trees, parks, and roads. They even employed artists ranging from painters and musicians to keep the public entertained and in good spirit. Roosevelt's signing of the TVA Act helped bring electricity and basic appliances to farmers. Projects such as the Grand Coulee Dam helped employ more Americans into getting some form of a job. Roosevelt managed to regulate banks and help keep an eye on the ones that could actually hold peoples' savings and actually gave many confidence to trust their savings inside the bank vaults. Social Security, the FDIC, and NRA helped. Don't give me flak about that only helped SOME people.
Actually, it was the WPA that did things with roads, bridges, etc. and paid for artists/entertainers. You lumped it in with the CCC. [editline]10:11PM[/editline] Don't forget that the TVA brought electricity and other basic services to millions of very impoverished Americans. Also, all of the alphabet agencies paid less than private sector businesses, so if there were jobs available in the private sector, people would take those instead. Quite brilliant, actually.

I know what the New Deal did and I can definitely conclude that WWII did more for America than the New Deal did.

[editline]07:16PM[/editline] oh gee another automerge fail
Your point?
I just stated it pretty clearly. [editline]10:23PM[/editline]
Yes the New Deal did not solve the recession, but you are understating what it did achieve.
Yes, and what it failed to achieve. That's the point of HIST 2100, to understand what occurred in America form 1877 to 1947, what was intended to happen and what actually happened.
It still did a lot more than you're acting like it did.
Sure.
Well, duh. Throwing money at a problem never works. It's not like this is the first stimulus program in America's history, those one's didn't do much either.
except... fix a major depression y'know... [editline]05:00AM[/editline]
prismatex is a liberal with very biased stories, nobody complains about that
I wasn't aware BBC and Reuters was liberal bias... uh, ok. go back to uganda. [editline]05:00AM[/editline]
They're not talking 68 janitors
am I'm pretty sure there's 68 economists who think otherwise. What's your point? [editline]05:08AM[/editline]
Nice wikipedia search.
I'm from Ireland and I learned this shit in school.
