I might acutaly buy one of these they look awsome. But for 3G or Wifi in general to work they need to improve their brower over the one the PSP1 had.
Yes. On mine I run Opera Mini on a Java emulator. Works great.
I rememeber when everyone stopped using flash carts ebcause they were soe xpensive to make with high capacities.
Like the look a bit. It reminds you that this is a PSP. Not a DS, a phone, or some slidy gimmick.
I didn't say I like the whole design though.
HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK IT HAS AN INTERNAL GPS. :pcgaming:
I remember that being a japan/europe-only option on the 1000, 2000, and 3000, along with the fucking camera.
Well still better than that fake psp2.
It'll all come down to games eventually. We already saw raw proccessing power doesn't beat quality games aimed at a broad audience.
Uncharted, on PSP? No, bad job Sony.
I really hope HB scene will find its way. I want to see the emulation possibilities.
I will buy this when they make a new MGS/ Resident Evil Game
untill then I will just save my money

Don't hold your breath nintendo probably bought the 2 resident evil games that where going to be developed to a handheld
I only count the RE Revelations game with the story not that 4 co-up shit that should be all in one game anyway
at that case then just MGS
Quad-core Cortex-A9! This thing is a fucking beast!
You thought the 3DS was expensive, wait till this one's price is announced (I'm predicting more than a new PS3, considering it uses nearly the same level tech).
Looks pretty sexy to me
it runs on quadcore...;D
I'd really prefer to know the Ghz per core on that CPU and whether or not they're just hyperthreading a dual core to make it LOOK like a quad core, because holy fuck the temperature inside that thing would be nearly impossible to cool off when the system spends most of it's time in the palm of the user's hand.
So, let's see:
- The design and name reminds me of the unreleased XGP/Mini korean console from Gamepark Holdings. Nothing wrong with that, only a funny resemblance
- OLED screen? HNNNNNNGGGGG!!!! Then battery life will be higher, that's a good thing. I've seen consoles with OLED screens before, and it looks wonderful compared with a normal LCD display
- Two touchpads (On the screen and behind the console). The front one is multi-touch, sounds really good. The back touchpad looks gimmicky, but let's see how it turns out...
- Finally two analog sticks, but they look convexed, so this implies they can be slippery as fuck. Hope they add a good surface for them.
- No UMD/MS port? Good for battery life and portability; bad for restrictive DRM, un-avoidable price discrimination, and having to buy again all your games if you were a PSP user with UMDs (Like in the failed PSP Go experiment); and very bad since it will be very difficult to flash (This machine has an incredible emulation potential)
- Built-in GPS? Good, no more external accesories. Hope having your GPS on won't cost you money (Same goes with the 3G connection)
- PS1 retro-compatibility? Well, you could have that on the PSP too
Well, let's see how it turns out. Waiting for some in-game images/videos (As powerful as PS3? Hah, don't make me laugh... It will be something between PS2 and PS3), battery life specs and, most important, price
Jorori - the PS3 is in a different universe when compared to the PS2 in terms of raw processing power.
This beast, the PSP2, uses a quad-core CPU and, apparently, a quad core GPU.
Think what a monster this is going to be.

It looks powerful indeed for a handheld console, but I prefer to wait until seeing some in-game footage to make a final assumption of what is this console capable to do, and the indirect consequences of that (Its price, will it be highly overpriced like the PSP at launch or it'll have a more bearable price?)
Touch screen, tilt sensor, cameras
Nothing new, really. Just a modernized PSP.
Yeah, it's not like the fact that NGP has hardware that beats the shit out of 3ds and the old PSP matters.
Yeah, it's not like the fact that NGP has hardware that beats the shit out of 3ds and the old PSP matters.
Not really. What matters the most is the game lineup.
Better hardware will most likely mean poor battery life and high cost.
Also, this will make PS1 emulation a lot better, since you can use the back touch pads as L2/R2
Hopefully they'll improve the ergonomics on this one, the PSP had a tendency to cramp my hands up after even shorter playsessions.
Looks like it has grips on the back this time, but I'm still worried.
Quad-core Cortex-A9! This thing is a fucking beast!
Smart phones are getting dual core processors now, come Christmas will they be far off quad? Probably not.
Well, I'll probably be getting this instead of a 3DS then.

The "OMG POWERFULL AS A PS3" can go fuck itself though, never listen to developers/makers of something, they always hype it up way beyond what it actually is (remember the PS3 being a supercomputer? Remember the photoshopped photorealistic screenshots of GT5? Yeah).
Does Nintendo pay you or something? You sound like a bad troll from 4chan's /v/.
It comes down to preference of games, I don't think the 3DS is any better or worse than the PSP2 and it comes down to whose product you prefer. No reason to get so angst because a company is competing with your product of choice, you haven't even given the PSP2 a chance, you're just getting upset over the first details.
if you actually think GNP has better games I pray for you
Hmm, I guess the quad core means the end to the MIPS R4000 CPU.
if you actually think GNP has better games I pray for you
Of course it doesn't have better games. There are no games. There is also no system. They just announced it, there's no screens of games, no play throughs or demos of games and yet you seem to know already that the games that come out are going to suck.
In other words, you're a tool.
Hopefully Sony won't be as fucktarded with this one and actually let people use homebrew games.
i will probably get one when a jailbreak is developed, easy to use, and when the console is nearly dead in 2 years
[editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
until then id use my 3ds
Sexy! I think the as powerful as a PS3 is a load of horse shit though.

With the hardware they're boasting and the resolution games have to play at, I think it's entirely possible.
