I don't know about you but when it comes to comparing someone who murders people they disagree with, to a bunch of dicks I don't like, I gotta say I hate the former a lot more.
when they came to mississippi a few years back they got fucked up good. hopefully you louisiana boys will do the same
Westbro is a bunch of legal experts who only do this to provoke people into attacking them so they can sue for cash. Stop giving them attention.

You hope people will be "fucked up good" because they say things that are unpopular and annoy people?

Again I have to ask where and when this has ever happened. As far as I know they have only ever initiated one lawsuit regarding their religious protesting, and that was because some county was denying them the right to protest in the first place.
Wonderful people. If my brother would have got to a single showing earlier he would have been in that theater.
My friend would have been at that exact screening if his girlfriend had not changed her mind and wanted to go bowling THEN to the movies, meaning they were going to see a later feature.

there's a huge difference between saying things that are unpopular and what they're doing. picketing funerals is quite a few steps beyond just unpopular.

Yeah it's double secret unpopular.
What in principle is the difference in "popularity" between the WBC expressing their religious beliefs near a funeral and a group of communists expressing their political beliefs outside of a bank?
When has this ever happened? Where are these supposed lawsuits? There's astonishingly no history of any of them.
Allow me to clarify: whatever group it was that picketed at my university specifically had a reputation for suing. I was told, the first I saw them, that the year prior an altercation of this sort arose.
The members of WBC specifically have been sued for things like spitting on people and such but no not necessarily full out physical assault.
This would be the one church you would rush to defend.

it's not religious beliefs, and WBC isn't a religious organization. they're intentionally stirring shit by saying things like "god hates fags"
take a step back and read your posts I just want you to realize that you're literally defending westboro baptist church right now

Where are you getting this? You have literary zero evidence for these claims.
Listen to this podcast. Educate yourself. These people really do believe what they say they believe.

Technically, it is a religious organization. To the point that the IRS will recognize your contributions to it.

Every group that acts completely within the law is worthy of defense, you dolt.
Every group that acts completely within the law is worthy of defense, you dolt.
Honestly, no. You should never defend Hate Groups, even if they act within the law. By defending them or allowing them to continue without strife is how groups like WBC form and continue to live.

The media giving them coverage allows them to live.

I know (for some reason) ratings have been disabled on FP but...

Not WBC.

you mean like the kkk
you mean like the kkk
To be fair the KKK has a history of not acting within the law.

members do, but the organization as a whole is entirely lawful

That merely makes them retarded instead of malicious.
Not an upgrade.

Even hate groups. Always uphold freedom of speech.

freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequences.

A wonderful little colloquialism that changes absolutely nothing.

they can say whatever they want but that doesn't mean they're not going to get their ass kicked for it
they can say whatever they want but that doesn't mean they're not going to get their ass kicked for it
If they get their ass kicked then the person kicking asses is guilty of assault.
You don't get to beat the shit out of someone because you don't like them, otherwise I'd get to beat the shit out of you.
I have a plan. I'll bring a change of clothes and a fake WBC sign. First I'll dress in all black clothing with a ski mask and douse everyone in cat piss. Run away, change clothing, grab sign, douse self in cat piss. Just to throw them off my trail.
Not sure that would work. The WBC is a tightly knit group of a single family. They would know immediately that you aren't one of them.
I like all the psychos inciting violence in this thread. Like goddamn you guys act like the tiny ass community (that consists of like 40 people, most of them in the same family) of WBC is lynching gay people and burning synagogues as we speak
Also WBC is hateful sure, but all their activities has been non-violent protests.

If you have ever seen a documentary about the WBC, you will see that they actually believe the things they spout. They are also religious, so no need to deny that either.
Also Explosions is defending their right to protest and all that shit, not their way of thinking

You do get to beat the shit out of him, but he gets to defend himself and you get to go to jail. See how this 'consequences' thing works?

See, in the context of the argument, what you "do" or "don't" get to do is decided based on whether or not the act is permissible by law. You could, theoretically, kidnap a member of the WBC and torture them to death in your garage, but the United States government would likely take issue with that, so we say, "no, you don't get to commit murder." I do understand that contextual inferences are difficult, but please try to keep up.
