if the ties are there the republicans will cut ties with him and force him to resign or face impeachment. But they will do it after the congressional elections or else they'd undoubtedly lose their majority
Pretty damn soon, cutting Trump loose will be the only things Republicans can do to save their seats. Believe me, he'll be gone before the congressional elections if there's real evidence he's guilty. Just like with Nixon.
realistic scenario: trump is either impeached or resigns, and pence is put in charge assuming pence isn't a complete russian puppet (he probably isn't), he slaps huge sanctions and makes a massive public condemnation to save face, and russian/american relations are pretty much frozen solid for at least a decade
Isn't it unjust for pence to be President because of Russian interference? Shouldn't there be a redo of the election?
Isn't it unjust for pence to be President because of Russian interference? Shouldn't there be a redo of the election?
i imagine in the chance that trump is impeached mike pence being made president and having him ride trumps presidency to the end would be arguably the smoothest transition to the shitshow that would be if it were to happen. i don't think the US would be ready for a emergency election and the aftermath of whatever the results would be in that sitaution
Hope the lot of them hang. Fuck every one of them for the crimes they've committed.
Can we not make this a thread were tweets are taken as news?
Hope the lot of them hang. Fuck every one of them for the crimes they've committed.
Why do people think it's still okay to call for the deaths of politicians, most of which simply because you disagree with them. They are not Mussolini. They are not Pol Pot. They are not Ceausescu.
Can we not make this a thread were tweets are taken as news?
This too. Loving the "sources" and "evidence" brought up by these tweets.
Can we not make this a thread were tweets are taken as news?
I mean it's called social media for a reason. As long as the sources are themselves reliable and have a history of being truthful then why be so doubtful? Essentially it's the same as a "BREAKING NEWS" ticker on a news station.

Essentially it's the same as a "BREAKING NEWS" ticker on a news station.
The fact that all the twitter accounts posted so far are full of opinion mixed with "news" makes me doubtful. There's a reason serious news people don't do it through twitter. They recognize that it takes more than 140 characters to accurately present and explain something, including relevant context.
I hope Mike Pence is discovered to also have his hand in all this. He might be better then Trump but still pretty fucking bad. I don't know how much better Paul Ryan would be though so he might also be terrible.
At this early stage, I wouldn’t read anything into this request beyond smart lawyering,” said Mark Zaid, a Washington lawyer who specializes in national security cases. “In such a politically charged, high-profile national security case, I couldn’t imagine not first asking for immunity.” “I would suspect both Congress and the F.B.I. will first generate additional evidence from smaller players before deciding to immunize General Flynn,” Mr. Zaid said.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/30/us/politics/michael-flynn-congress-immunity-russia.html I know this might deflate the hype, but thought it was worth pointing out.
id say yes to immunity as long as he spills and leaks everything, though he will always have backstabber labelled on his forehead, it's better than having spy or a treason charge

It's a headline. Clearly take it with a grain of salt, but if it's from a reputable news source then dismissing it entirely seems kinda dumb.
It sounds a bit too good to be true, but a man can hope I guess.
If true.
pretty obvious he's gotten his hands real dirty, but if the democrats and republicans who don't like trump want some sort of smoking gun they'll need to grant him immunity to talk
I hope Mike Pence is discovered to also have his hand in all this. He might be better then Trump but still pretty fucking bad. I don't know how much better Paul Ryan would be though so he might also be terrible.
Paul Ryan was the guy who pushed for the AHCA the hardest IIRC, and it was a disaster. I sincerely doubt he'd be much better than Trump, possibly even just as bad, or worse.

But fuck Pence. Sure, he might not be a traitor but still
god if everything ends up in favor against trump then I'll be a happy boy, even if Pence gets presidency. At least, Pence won't openly shittalk US allies and actively ruin relationships.
This too. Loving the "sources" and "evidence" brought up by these tweets.
But if a inkling of what they say is true whoooooaaaaa
That's just how the line of succession works. Besides, he's innocent until proven guilty so he can't be treated as if he's guilty even if Trump is found guilty of something.
Even so, the head of that "team" cheated to get all of them where they are. I understand why line of succession works the way it does in most cases but if the president is being forced out for cheating in the election it seems silly for all of them to not be ousted as they are only in their position because of said cheating.

It's a shortcoming of "innocent until proven guilty" but it's just how it is. I can understand the reasoning but I'd rather not arbitrarily starting punishing people by association, at most it would be grounds for an investigation.

Big things has small beginnings.
But if a inkling of what they say is true whoooooaaaaa
I know there are absolutely no credible sources that say the moon landings were faked, Bush did 9/11 or that Hillary is an alien reptile, but if a inkling of what they say is true whoooooaaaaa Look, I get you guys hate Trump. I can't stand him either. That being said, y'all need to exercise a little bit of healthy skepticism. I shouldn't have to be the one to remind you that believing random shit on the internet just because it confirms your personal beliefs is what got us into this mess in the first place.
:hurr:
He always has to mention how bigly he won the election.
I know there are absolutely no credible sources that say the moon landings were faked, Bush did 9/11 or that Hillary is an alien reptile, but if a inkling of what they say is true whoooooaaaaa
I feel like the context of these comparisons you're making is different.

Especially when the original source is the Wall Street Journal, which is highly reputable.
I feel like the context of these comparisons you're making is different.
My point stands. Treating randoms on twitter as if they were credible sources is dumb.

Especially when the original source is the Wall Street Journal, which is highly reputable.
Okay, how about those 'reliable sources say Hillary will be indicted within the week' sorts of claims that floated around during the election? Even if it's the WSJ, a bad source is a bad source. I'm not saying it's fake but a little cautious skepticism is warranted especially when it concerns something as huge as impeachment/presidential resignation.
