Anyway, in that case, couldn't someone have knocked him unconscious in the pub to mug him or something, and then stuffed his body in a bin, which got crushed? Would the examiner be able to tell if this man suffered some sort of blow from his crushed corpse?

I assume so since it mentioned they concluded that he was crushed to death. Otherwise, they wouldn't be sure.
Though I'll admit, it amazes me how these people arre able to find this stuff out and come to a solid conclusion.
I find it amusing that they had to do a post mortem just to make sure he was crushed. I imagine it would be rather obvious if someone had been crushed or not.

As for the news. being crushed to death while drunk and sleeping in a bin must've felt terrible for that man those few seconds he might've realised he was being crushed to death.
So how exactly did he get crushed to death? Did the truck dump the bin into itself and compact the contents (including the guy) or what?
