He did not ruin it. He made Eurovision. His comments were fantastic and witty. Stop being killjoys.
Didn't your culture die with your empire?
Did your culture ever exist?
How could anyone take Eurovision seriously? Fucking Australia competes in Eurovision now, and we are on the other side of the world from Europe lol.
same reason israel is in eurovision. we're culturally closer to them than their neighbors.
Terry was the main reason I used to watch Eurovision, his commentary was hilarious.
Didn't your culture die with your empire?
That's really insensitive, Islamic culture has a very rich and interesting history.
The British treat the Eurovision as the farce it is. Björkman is a joke, and should be treated accordingly. I'm Swedish myself, and this man is the embodiment of everything that makes Eurovision the musical travesty it is. He is responsible for "Melodifestivalen", the Swedish competition were the winner gets to represent Sweden in Eurovision, and his entire fucking life seemingly revolves around Eurovision. Every year he handpicks half of the songs appearing in Melodifestivalen (15 out of 32), and his choices speak for themselves. Here's a few examples from this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMfuugsYhMA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QP-8_yyd_rc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jxfkxBgR1c Do yourself a favour and do not click the links.

She couldn't be more bland and boring. Though in truth Melodifestivalen couldn't be more bland and boring but not for lack of trying.
The late broadcaster was accused of creating a generation of Britons who see the show as irrelevant and “kitsch” by Christer Björkman, the Swedish producer of this year’s contest, who said he would never have given him the job.
But it IS kitsch and irrelevant.
They better not check out the Australian commentary. Two comedians hilariously shit talking every act for the entire time and then discussing who's the best looking. Seriously, people were so into it that Australian is now part of the competition even though we're on the other side of the world.
Remember when the four old Russian ladies won while singing in front of a washing machine? Super serious show. Wasn't the only reason Australia and other countries were there because it was the 50th anniversary of it or some other pointless reason. I just watch it to get a cheap laugh at the "quality"
The late broadcaster was accused of creating a generation of Britons who see the show as irrelevant and “kitsch”
Eurovision is objectively kitsch. [editline]19th April 2016[/editline] The greatest thing that Eurovision has ever produced is this german group Which I will eternally used to torture my Russian coworkers
