How tf is Jersey above PA? There is literally nothing that Jersey has going for it.
FUCK YOU WE HAVE BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN
Please, living in a dorm at PA for college from NJ is awful. There's nothing here and anything that is here is shitty. Nearby cities are ghetto as hell and your roads are atrocious. NJ is shitty if you're from the north eastern part but everywhere else is really nice. Surprised we have #2 in education but I'll take it.
Also this, I was in Philly recently and some areas were nice but a lot of it looked fucking ghetto. although our waters are increasingly becoming jellyfish infested with a new species each year
KY is like #42, holy fuck get me out of here Good thing we have so many horses here
#35, shit. At least we beat Texas
As someone who moved from MA to FL, I do not regret it. MA is a shithole and it is ridiculously expensive to live there. Although I did like living in Boston for a short while. Tons of stuff to do there.
How tf is Jersey above PA? There is literally nothing that Jersey has going for it.
I was pretty shocked too. I've seen a handful of "state rankings" and New Jersey is almost always toward the bottom. I question their method of rating.
Florida barely makes it onto the upper half of the list lol
that's too generous for us tbh

For example, in this list, New Jersey is in the bottom 5 https://www.freedominthe50states.org/
I'm going to get whiplash. (michigan)
my merge, noo [editline]1st March 2017[/editline]
But like Lt Kyle said, you gave the world Bruce Springsteen. That automatically makes you one of the best American states to us, at-least.
I'll settle for that
Alabama's new slogan "Thank god for Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana "
For example, in this list, New Jersey is in the bottom 5 https://www.freedominthe50states.org/
Connecticut is in its proper place there. [editline]1st March 2017[/editline] like I love the land in connecticut, I love the towns and scenery and people and history but god the state government fucking sucks.
Vermont is number one in public safety, and is also one of the states with some of the most lenient gun laws.
I've seen articles on Utah's growth, 7th is more than I expected. Ebay, Adobe and some other big companies have moved here.
Texas is a #38 :< Infrastructure is #49...yep that's for sure.
I've lived in Louisiana for most of my life and it's at the bottom of the list i'm amazed :v:
Vermont is number one in public safety, and is also one of the states with some of the most lenient gun laws.
Coincidence or correlation, I wonder :v:
New York (upstate) here, how we even got 17 is a complete mystery. It's awful here. Potato quality infrastructure, most of any government related things being decided by NYC, painful taxes, etc.
Proud to be a Masshole :,)
South Carolina, 45th overall and 48th in opportunity. Yeah, I don't need to be sticking around
Lmao #38 overall and #41 in education for my state. Texas definitely deserves it. Holy shit I missed #49 in infrastructure, that is definitely an earned ranking
South Carolina, 45th overall and 48th in opportunity. Yeah, I don't need to be sticking around
I found it weird that I've wound up living in SC and my birth state (NH) wound up being #2 on the list. Might have to move back eventually... The interesting thing about South Carolina (and many other states in the Deep South) is that the larger cities (Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, etc.) are generally nicer and have decent/good economies while the rest of the state is much more rural and underdeveloped, hence why often the southern states rank lower on these types of surveys.

I'll take some comfort knowing mine's at least in the top 20, though I can understand Massachusetts being around the top. I had few problems during the short time I lived there, just never bring the topic of baseball to a conversation around there. They're pretty touchy about it.
As someone who moved from MA to FL, I do not regret it. MA is a shithole
I mean I know you're bitter about the living costs but Massachusetts is definitely not a shithole lmao
Indiana #22, I'll take that. We're somehow #1 in government, how's that work?
That's exactly what I was thinking. I guess we hoosiers are an honest bunch (supposedly).
Whoa! Iowa at 6 what?
Oh dear, Louisiana is the only state in America I've been to, at least I can't be disappointed if I visit elsewhere now :v
What did they exclude Pittsfield from this study? They couldn't even afford busing for public schools let alone any sort of extracurricular activity. I can't imagine the teaching staff got much in the ways of supplies or pay either.
Surprises me too because i live 10 minutes away from Pittsfield in a small town and its such a shithole and excluding Pittsfield takes away 2 of the largest high schools in the county
