• Family guy hits new low with Domestic Violence Episode

If you people think Seth MacFarlane is bad, I'd like to see what you people think of the shit Frankie Boyle says on a weekly basis.
Honestly it wasn't making fun of domestic violence and pretty much everybody in the video was against it (besides the abusive and the abused). Was expecting them to just flat out make fun of people who are abused, it's not like they should have even made the episode but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
Comedians are supposed to be funny. Seth is not funny, while still being an asshole.
Implying he isn't a comedian just because you don't think he's funny.
the fact that they thought those jokes were actually funny is more offensive than the subject content if you ask me
I'm guessing the message of that episodes is you have to be careful with your choice?
But the thing with abusive relationships is that it starts out fine then you trust them, move in with them and bam all hell breaks loose and you're too sc ared to leave because of the treats and the lies and things. Its easier said than to leave an abusive relationship.
I'd probably rather be in prison for manslaughter than be in a relationship where I'm beaten constantly. Or even better than that is to not be in prison at all and have them be in prison.
Get over it. It's a cartoon. Unlike say Serbian Film which has recieved only minimal controversy.
I don't see why this is offensive. It's reality.
How is this news, it's not even a news website, it's some women's blog.
It's not like it's a kids show as well.
Lol.
Everyone here is so quick to hate family guy that 1) it doesn't matter if they ARE funny anymore, you all decide they aren't and b) you lock only onto the worst possible aspects of an episode. I doubt any of you really considered what was being said beyond "eww its a domestic violence episode" The jokes are mostly about a) The police and their lack of concern for domestic violence. b) How only the moron ( peter ) thinks it is acceptable. c) How others are reluctant to help Then at the end quagmire lays serious truths on his sister, how there are people who want to and can help and that the power is with her always, but that she is choosing to remain with an abusive boyfriend, and that That is the thing that degrades her, not the abuse.
Seth Mcfarlane will not give two shits, he will probably get told off and then will do an episode explaining how nit picky people are. If you don't like it. Don't watch it.

I don't particularly care for it, but I don't go all out to bitch about it.
You know you're not a good comedian if you dont make some people butthurt.
Not any worse than any other thing I've seen on there. It's just a subject that gets feminists in a tissy.
ITT: A majority of people who didn't see the episode and are going off of a biased blog piece written by a female (who is thus more likely to be biased in this particular situation). Oh and the site's demographic is almost entirely women.
"Oh, the piece was written by a woman. Pssh, just ignore her. Why do women care so much about domestic violence anyway? Stupid broad."
Get over it. It's a cartoon. Unlike say Serbian Film which has recieved only minimal controversy.
Serbian Film wasn't trying to pass itself off as comedy. Yeah, that's a 'serious truth', alright.
Actually I thought those jokes that the article mentions were funny. If they'd just let the fucking show end Macfarlane wouldn't have had to do this.
Serbian Film wasn't trying to pass itself off as comedy.
Yes it was. Watch the ending again.
It's Mcfarlane trying to get it cancelled, he said himself that the show is too old and must die, but he can't because of the fanbase.
even if they didn't make fun of domestic violence whose bright idea was this?
I laughed, I'm a dick :(
I didn't and you're not.
Same shit going on with South Park, the creators want it to end but they're bound by contract.
You're supposed to be able to joke about everything, but.. I dunno. Not a smart move by MacFarlane at any rate.
He wants Family Guy to die aswell. No reason he's doing it to sway public opinion towards it so that Fox will be urged to cancel it.
Wow. That's just disgusting.
No, it's called satire.
This isn't a PSA or an after-school special; this is the fucking Family Guy.
So... Why is this even newsworthy? You're right, its Family Guy. Taking it seriously is a waste of time...
I watched it and found it semi-humorous
A lot here are blaming McFarlane, he hasn't written an episode of Family Guy in years and even wants it to end. This blog post is just some woman overthinking it and taking this show the wrong way, obviously not knowing that Peter's an idiot, and that Joe is merely satirizing the polices (supposed) stance on domestic abuse I feel a lot of people on here have just jumped on some FG/McFarlane hate bandwagon before even seeing an episode, but when they eventually do they just think of what the rest of FP would think of it and watch it from their apparent perspective

This blog post is just some woman overthinking it and taking this show the wrong way
not really she's pretty much on the ball. this episode pretty much attempts to string together an episode using a shocking subject and some really crappy jokes and ends up somewhere between "wow whoever wrote this was a fucking idiot" and "wow whoever thought these were funny jokes was a fucking idiot". this blog post is more about how terrible family guy is at these kinds of things than something else. family guy should stick to what it is best at, cute pop culture references.
People need to reach into their pants and find their balls Damn oversensitive flakes, man
