Family guy hits new low with Domestic Violence Episode

At least it's against it.
That's funny. Domestic abuse is terrible, but outside of lifetime movies, it doesn't happen. Seriously, I checked.
On a more serious note; If it's not worth making fun of, it's probably not worth taking seriously.
Bullshit, this is far from how "low" Family Guy has gotten. Seth MacFarlane tries to make points with some of his episodes, but most are just plain bawdy humor, which lots of people are into. Don't like it? Don't watch it.
I personally enjoy Family Guy.
Wouldn't say it was a low at all to be honest
I don't like Family Guy a great deal but I don't see what the fuss is with this
A lot of people need to stop being offended by anything, 1) it's a cartoon 2) most of it's humour is shock value 3) people should have suspected this from family guy anyway.
We need to be able to laugh
I don't really care what they make fun of, but the fact that
The person I see before me right now is just a punching bag. And I call you "person," not "woman," because a woman is a strong, beautiful vibrant creature. Sadly, the fact that you are with Jeff proves to me that you have made a choice to make your life worse.
is intended to be taken as a serious moral is pretty messed up.

I thought most of its humor was from randomly mixing cultural references and forcing them into the show? South Park is the one that derives its humor from being offensive and over the top.

Hell, I thought that it was obvious that that was a joke ("You're just a punching bag" "you're not a woman because a woman is a strong beautiful vibrant creature") ... but then someone actually took it seriously. (No I'm not talking about you)
Really guys? Really?
Either way, though, it's stupid.
You guys are incredibly dumb, I know for a fact that none of you watched the episode, as you can tell from even this extremely biased blog article thing, it is quite obvious that they are not mocking, but instead sending a message that women who put up with an abusive spouse should...not do that, and that it is not a joking matter. You guys just jump on a bandwagon, and it's extremely embarrassing, stop following a crowd just so you fit in and enjoy things you enjoy, or at least stop acting like everything you don't like should end, stop being a hateful fucking person, let people enjoy what they want. You're being no better than Evangelical Christians that only believe things that fit their needs, you look at this blog and take it seriously because it's talking mean about some show you don't like, but then you don't like a blog that talks mean about a show you like and you demean it and say it's not legitimate. In actuality, neither are legitimate. Form your own opinions you stupidasses.
Don't like it? Don't watch it.
yeah the blogger in question said she doesn't watch it
And it's funny you draw the line here, plenty of you guys have probably made fun of more serious things than domestic abuse (not to say that domestic abuse isn't serious), and then you get all up in arms when a show you don't like gets called out on something. Fuck off you ignorant sheep
Form your own opinions you stupidasses.
well you know, my opinion is that you are a jerk and i formed that just on my own.

"it's sending a message that it's not a joking matter"
*show makes jokes about it*
wut
Also: "Someone is criticizing a show I like? You're just bandwagoning! You're hateful!"

Except that, when something gets obviously over the top, it becomes detached from reality and actually easy to laugh at.
Domestic violence isn't that far removed from everyday life.

wait i'm confused are you picking any side or are you just calling everyone out?
if it's the latter please continue i'm enjoying it
I wasn't talking about just the biased writer, I was talking to people in general who object to Family Guy.

It's making jokes that make jokes about how this shit is handled in the real world, it's trying to show you how ridiculous it is how some people handle it. Such as the whole "it's police policy we can't do anything until it's too late".

Both, I'm not particularly defending Family Guy, I just think that people shouldn't get all mad butthurt when something like this happens because it's often uneducated bandwagoners endlessly forgetting that they make fun of shit even worse everyday just so they can demean Family Guy/something they don't like.
I wasn't talking about just the biased writer
biased writer is redundant.
What was written in the OP seems to be one of those run-of-the-mill this is how society works storylines.
Problem is it's a comedy, so they're usually meant to be funny as well.
Watched most of the episode last-night. In traditional Family Guy style there was 1 joke worth chuckling at(still not worth remembering though.)
The simple fact that Seth MacFarlane OK'd releasing an episode of a comedy TV-show, that he's admitted to disliking and wanting to end, about a subject like spousal abuse shows he's either a stupid asshole of biblical proportions or he really was trying to end this show with this move.
But whoever wrote this piece of shit article needs to move out to the woods and live off the land or something.
This is comedy television, not a fucking documentary. Clearly the author wasn't meant for this world.

But whoever wrote this piece of shit article needs to grow a bear
fuck yes, you can grow a bear?
where do i buy the seeds for those?

They're at the bottom of most cans of bear.
Just crack into a bear and look at the bottom.

canned bear? sounds gamey
it's worth it if i can amass a legion of warbears to do my biding
I think a lot of people are missing the satire here. Just saying
I'm also highly offended by this, that was also in that episode

Kinda reminded me of this:

I think Seth Macfarlane is trying to sabotage his own show because he is tired of doing family guy. I mean he was saying how he wanted to end it and start doing star trek stuff.
"It only hurts when I see"
I laughed at that not gonna lie
why? I didnt see this yet but I guess I will
I have just finished watching this episode and it seems to confirm what I speculated in my previous post.
Massive overreaction.
I did not notice the domestic abuse being used for comedic effect, it was actually a rather serious episode IMO.
"Sorry — police policy is that we can't step in until it's too late."
Family Guy is the last show I would have expected to have truth in television.
Ever heard of free speech or freedom of expression? If you don't like it or find it offensive, the remote is right there... Change the fucking channel. People seem to forget the fact that they have the ability to choose what they want to see; not demand that other people can't have the choice to enjoy a show that's purely satire.
Get lives people!
