facebook is only as bad as the people you add
Which is exactly why I only have 23 friends.
uh the pages you like did this before....
I remember being 14 and liking every page that was like "sleeping" or "women are for sandwiches".
Time to remove all of those.
I don't really see the problem with this
don't like the "incredible shoelace deals" page if you don't care about incredible shoelace deals
This is why I deleted my Facebook months ago! I knew this crap was going to happen...... Then again, it already was.
I'm not sure why everyone hates Facebook, it's a website designed to connect you with your friends and does exactly that, what's the issue?

People don't dislike the concept. The dislike their practices. Facebook does a lot of dirty and unnecessary things.
The biggest thing off the top of head is the adware they use. My understanding of it is limited, but basically your Facebook cookie never fully expires. Any site with a Like button or Facebook frame will be used to gather targeted ad information.
They also sale people's information and according to their ToS, everything you upload belongs to them.

Of course I'm just parroting what I've heard from other people so if I'm wrong, whatever.

Adverts aren't my friends. Why can't anyone just run a respectable service with a respectable amount of advertisements, instead of having to shove it in my face all the damn time, like Youtube. It's been studied and proven that people do not like advertisements when they are unavoidable, and is counter-productive to the message.
Haven't seen any ads yet, even though I have at least 100 friends and have liked plenty of pages.
Wouldn't really bother me anyways, most of the shit in the news feed is either someone whining about something, or people boasting that "I GOT DRUNK LAST NIGHT!" (17 year olds do actually post this shit). I only really check what close friends post anyways.
Me being without a phone, I sort of need Facebook. Everyone uses it practically, so why not?
It's also great for watching people fight when a relationship turns sour.
