I don't like cigarettes but banning them is the worst idea, and just banning menthols wont do shit.
Legalizing weed would stop cigarette smoking. :smug:
No, if they were being our parents, they'd enacted a Federal Make People Smoke Every Cigarette in the Pack and See How Cool it is Then Act.
The government isn't like a cool Dad. It is like an overprotective mother that thinks she is always right regardless of what facts you tell her. What you can't do is based off of what she thinks is and isn't good for you. To continue on with this dumb analogy, in this situation your mother is pretty much telling you that smoking is bad for you and that you shouldn't do it, but she can't stop you from smoking because you're 18. So instead she tells you that you can smoke, but that you can only smoke and still live in the house is that if you smoke the cheapest kind of cigs which really just taste awful. The idea is to deter you away from smoking by making it less enjoyable. Alright, I'm dumb with these kind of analogies and trying to make them work. There are many people who don't enjoy getting high or maybe don't want to get high all the time when they smoke because they just like smoking. Personally I like smoking and will smoke tobacco just so I can smoke something. I have never smoked weed just because I wanted to smoke, it's always because I've wanted to get high. I may be saying it bad, but the motivations are different.
only women and asians smoke menthols anyway [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
Legalizing weed would stop cigarette smoking. :smug:
cigarettes while you're stoned kick ass so that's where you're wrong
Yaaaay, another smear campaign... Just because something is harmful to idiots, does not mean you can piss all over the constitution! If we have the right to carry loaded guns, then clearly, a mint-flavored cigarette isn't that much of a problem. [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
Yeah but having a familiar taste makes it easier to swallow, literally and metaphorically. The same deal with alcohol. That's the logic behind it.
Yeah, so let's also get rid of peppermint schnapps, candy-canes and sugarfree breathmints in order to prevent alcoholism, diabetics and cancer. Or maybe just not live in a world ruled by narrow-minded beurocrats.
