How do you even port Pac-Man wrong? That thing is like the simplest thing ever...

I think the hardware was just too weak for it to be done properly I believe, that and the fact that they forced the guy who was porting it to rush it.
I'm just wondering if these cartridges still work.

Now put them back or else a curse will decend on us all.
I wanna plug one of these in and see if it works and if it doesn't or hardly does I wonder how cool and fucked up the game looks.
Now put them back or else a curse will decend on us all.
na they were put down there to seal away an old god, once we start digging into it though we'll unleash the dark lord chithulu and 10,000 years of darkness will ensue, which will probably cancel out the global warming
I actually just found an Atari "Darth Vadar Edition" at a pawn shop for $11.

I was actually able to beat the game after my second try.
It's not worth the ending because it just starts at the beginning again......

And by rush, I think he had like six weeks.

My dad has one with an Atari 2600, too. Tried playing it. Too fuckin' frustrating.
I didn't even know that it was considered merely a legend. I had always thought that the whole "dump it all in a landfill" thing was an actual fact. Yeah, it did turn out to be a fact, but still...

They probably always knew it was dumped in a landfill, they just weren't 100% sure as to where.
this is a viral ad for AVGN
not really, it's for a documentary that xbox is filming for the Xbox One. the documentary is exclusive to XB1's movie store.
Can't wait until someone just records it and throws it up on YouTube

Yeah same here, never heard anyone treat it as anything but fact.
It was a pretty cool day out there. I mean as cool as a day can be un an old landfill. The one I am holding in the photo was the very first one they found. There area a TON more down there and the story is developing on exactly how many.
Oh and nice 'shop of my head.
think of it like the higgs boson
It's worth noting that ET for the 2600 was actually an impressive game for the time (a title screen, open ended gameplay, a game complete screen and animation, no violence...), and that the only real reason it's so bad is because of publisher meddling and tight deadlines (remind you of anything?). It can hardly be called "the worst game of all time" with all the shit that's been coming out in the past 2-3 years.
A coder was able to bring it to a prettier, more enjoyable state, while still keeping within the limitations of 2600 hardware.

“Ironically, a bunch of WiiUs were found buried next to ET”
:v:
I can see this getting dug up again by some people trying to make a quick buck.
I assume that these will go for even more due to the myth being true, and they were buried.
I mean I'd buy one.
So will we find the dump of Apple Lisa's?
lol they actually buried the game in the landfill. Now we know for sure, and damn is that funny.
On a related note, I actually own a working cartridge of this game, got it at a garage sale with a few other games for $20. Sadly it isn't worth a damn thing, but there is definitely some sentimental value to holding the worst game ever made. Now if only I could get my hands on a cheap copy of Shaq-fu, I'd be set.
My brother was able to find a copy of Shaq-fu on Ebay for $4.99.
reminds me of this
Hasbro and Disney once teamed up to create a tie-in toy for the 1963 release of Son of Flubber. All the kids wanted their own dark green bouncy ball of goop, a totally harmless, lab-tested concoction made of synthetic rubber, mineral oil, and green dye. The “parent-approved” formula hit shelves just before Christmas in 1962, and a few weeks later, complaints of kids with head-to-toe rashes, fever and sore throat were flooding the customer service departments.
After lawsuits and an extensive FDA inquiry, the companies determined that Flubber caused folliculitis—a painful infection of the hair follicles. After the recall, Hasbro attempted to incinerate the Flubber but found it just released noxious black smoke but didn’t really burn. So they enlisted the help of the Coast Guard to sink the excess product, but it floated back to the surface. In a last ditch effort, Hasbro buried tons of Flubber and paved over it to make a parking lot for their new Providence, RI warehouse.
Need to get both of these
So happy this has finally been proven as true. This has made my night. Does anyone have any info on when the documentary will be or how I can watch it?
