Fatal Car Accident Caused By Deer (happened right in front of me omw to a party)

Don't ever change FP.
Wait, people are suggesting he should help?
Do you people know how dumb that is 99% of the time?
People in government agencies and rescue response things always, ALWAYS, stress that normal people should get the fuck out and not try and do things. Just because you want to help, or you want someone else to help, doesn't mean that's a good idea.
God damn. Getting on his ass for nothing and not even thinking about the implications of trying to help a situation you are in no way qualified to deal with, nor ready to deal with.
Well, this place is full of Desk chair superheroes, don'tcha know?
it's amazing how fast a topic about someone dying can turn into a shit-slinging contest between sheltered people and the influence defense force.
Everyone says that about driving drunk, too, until they crash.
Such a sad story, though. It still pisses me off that you were high AND had alcohol in the car while driving.
Whats wrong with having alcohol in the car?
im a nurse
pm me pics in outfit
it's also pretty fucked up to learn about the molesting part after that tragic witnessing jesus
pm me pics in outfit
um
um
Just do it
This kind of thing makes the news in the US? This happens almost daily in Northern Ontario, and while it is tragic, it's not really newsworthy of anything other than a mention in the local paper.
OP has also been grilled enough, and from what he described, the guy was as good as dead as soon as he left the road, there's nothing he could have done if he'd stopped other than scar himself for life even farther by looking at a mangled body.
It is a local paper, only posted here because OP was involved

I like how the only few people actually qualified to know what they're talking about in this thread still get rated dumb lol

armchair hero types are kind of retarded
to the point where they think they know more than actual medical professionals
armchair hero types are kind of retarded

i've taken a handful of medical courses for first aid and more advanced first aid classes and they all stress pretty strongly, even with this training and knowledge, if you see an accident on the road, or you run into something of that magnitude, step out, stay away, and don't try and help. you'll fuck something up. Call the professionals, etc.
it's ridiculous so many people don't even stop to think.
People are just looking for a reason to get mad at the OP. If it isn't "DRUGS ARE BAD IDIOT", its "You didn't pull this man out of the wreckage with your super strength, MONSTER".
Like shit, all he had to do was call for medical help and he did, it's none of our business that he was high. Plus the dude was a child molester, I think comforting him at his last moments is pretty undeserved, he also would've pulled out a corpse or accidentally killed the guy if he was alive because he's not a professional. But of course people are willing to spend money to insult someone on something they barely understand.
Rule of thumb: If a car accident happens in front of you, stay put, keep the person there if there is no immediate danger. Emergency services will always arrive.
Plain and simple.

Even if you have like Bruce Banner level strength, don't pull someone out of wreckage. Extrication exists for a reason.
Driving while under the influence of anything is a stupid move OP
That easily could have been you
Clearly it wasn't. Maybe if he wasn't so relaxed from his weed or busy smoking at the time, he would have not minded the deer as the other driver did and he would have been in the accident. Stupid people will be stupid rather they are sober or not, does not mean that any intelligent being becomes brainless.
You still could have done something. Even if it was just as small as waiting. Maybe he was still alive but struggling to get out. You never know when something like this happens.
The shit's he gonna do? Sit there with a phone out waiting for the EMS? If someone's there, you can leave, not like if you are the FIRST person to witness an accident, you aren't LEGALLY forced to stop your car and accompany the injured till someone with experience arrives. If he was struggling to get out, it would depend if the guy is trapped under the car and would need something to remove a part of the car to fully get him out. That is why the EMS is better to help than untrained people.
Making someone feel like shit for something like this is insane...
He was DUI, which statistically has a higher chance of being responsible for a collision.
=> He could have killed his friend's uncle, or any other person on the road for that matter.
Depends on how impaired he was, he could drive easily without problems, or be so out of it and crash. You're assuming a situation you have no idea of and making assumptions off what the OP has stated.
I don't want to use the word "brainwashed" here. It should be common sense that driving under toxins will fuck you over, and it takes experience doing so to convince you otherwise.
I've driven (a very short distance) while stoned on DXM from cough syrup, now that shit fucks you over, do not try DXM DUI
Yes, flame this man. He's not smart driving under the influence of DXM. If you know the effects you'd only need half a thought to realize just how bad of an idea that is. Every drug supplies different effects, and offer different varieties of those effects to different people.
Anyone who drives under the influence of alcohol, or DXM should have their license revoked immediately, because that is just fucking stupid. On DXM especially since that could lock your legs up, make you twitch and completely alter your perception. These effects are completely different from smoking a joint, to compare marijuana to alcohol, DXM, opiates, or psychs is absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not suggesting that everyone goes out and drives high, but you're making a big deal out of nothing, specially considering the dose of weed he is saying he took and the distance he was traveling.
OP was smart and collected in this incident regardless of his condition, which shows contradicting information to anything you guys have been spouting. Repeating your nonsense over and over including the insults is not proving your case.
OPs story mention he had alcohol in him. i really hope he wasnt drinking it
edit: nvm, he wasn't. OP has literally no fault here.
And, what happens if the police have further inquiries regarding the matter?
What happens if the matter is heard before a coroner?
After all, it sounds like the only person who actually witnessed the accident, and can give accurate information regarding the lead up to the accident is the OP.
Even though they did not stop at the accident (and I think they probably should have), there is no reason now why the OP cannot go to a police station and answer any questions they might have. In the scheme of things, it's not like they'll give a crap about the OP being under the influence when they're having to deal with result of a fatal car accident.
you can bet your sweet ass that they will
you can bet your sweet ass that they will
OP even said that it was legal for him to drive high as long as he waited an hour iirc, which he did
The cops couldn't do anything
Had this happened in my country and the police had gotten to you, you'd be in even deeper shit.
Driving while under the influence of illegal substance AND not stopping to help out at a roadside crash.
It's a law that if your first on the scene you HAVE TO HELP. Dissregarding this law is actually punichable by jailtime, depending on the severity of the crash.

You silly goose, He's from Finland.
You silly goose, He's from Finland.
Duty to rescue laws in Finland are in a scenario where you can actually help and the person would further be hurt or killed if you do not aid them.
This is not the case.
