Fatal Car Accident Caused By Deer (happened right in front of me omw to a party)

I've driven stoned for 3 years daily and have done nothing but drive with the utmost of care and attention, and have never had single accident while avoiding multiple potential accidents. So no, I'll keep doing what I'm doing. A light smoker or extremely inexperienced driver might get paranoid, but I and even semi regular smokers that drive that I've met can handle ourselves. It's different for everyone, it's not like alcohol where it's almost guaranteed to have a seriously neglibile effect on one's driving.
This is not to be interpreted as there is literally nothing that can be done, goodbye
You're right, there was something he could've done, and he did it, he called 911.
Who else am I going to vent this to? If I tell any of my friends it's such a small town word would probably get back to those girls or their family somehow. I'm sorry if it's too much, you're right maybe I should snip it.
The world is smaller than you think, you don't know among complete strangers who is someone from your town that knew the deceased. These things have a way of getting around.
Oh, I get paranoid when I drive after smoking? I'm glad you know me so well. Stop saying things, your after school special pot education doesn't speak for everyone.
Oh, so things my friends have told me about their experiences with driving high doesn't speak for everyone, yet yours does?

No I clearly state that I speak in defense of me and the people I know, unlike your crusade to make him feel like shit over something that in all likelihood (I don't personally know the OP) is directly related to how I live my life.
That's fucking horrible, and I'm sorry to hear that. But at least she didn't get comfort her uncle in his final moments.

You're a REALLY terrible person, you should feel worse than you're trying to make OP feel.
Why don't you go poke at mentally handicapped with sticks or something, it'd be right up your alley assmonkey.
breakyourfac, damn dude. I am so sorry you have to go through all this.
First off, you know, I know, and every other person with an ounce of rational thought knows that you did all you could.
Second, don't feel bad for venting. That's some strong stuff to have to go through and I think sharing that burden with someone is not only healthy, but something you should do. Keeping it inside will only tear at you and I think you should have some outlet for sympathy and understanding. You sure as hell have mine. Seriously, I know I am a nobody on these forums, but if you ever need to talk or something - I'd be willing to listen!
Anyways, I hope the best for you and for those girls and I will keep you in my thoughts.
And to all of you speaking of morality and what he "should have done": Go fuck yourself. You sit on top of your moral high-horse speaking of what's right and what's wrong and yet you'd attempt to destroy a man who has to already internally process a terrible event. How disgusting and uncompassionate can you be? Judging from the things you are saying, I'd highly doubt you'd do HALF of what breakyourfac did in his situation.
You don't deserve that car, nor your license.
Wow I guess there are a lot of sociopaths on FP...
You have my sympathy OP, though I don't agree with you driving under the influence of anything
Checking to see if he's alive? Let's see:
There is a crash in front of me, I call for help and go on my way. Professionals arrive and take it from there.
There is a crash in front of me. I call for help and stop to check if he's alive. He's dead. Professionals arrive and take it from there.

You'll notice that me stopping or leaving has NO difference to the guy in the crashed car. Maybe he had some last words? Tell you what, YOU say anything you want to, right now, to whoever you think needs to hear it. Now strangers don't have to worry about delivering your last words for you- problem solved.
You don't deserve that car, nor your license.
I don't deserve a lot of things.
So you valued your party and not getting into trouble for drugs/alcohol which likely would not have been found over waiting for the police to come and explain to them in person what you saw.
This is just my assumption of what you said

ACTUALLY did you know that smoking da bud gives you the combined driving skills of Ryan Gosling AND Vin Diesel?! I read it on yoniggalightdatbud.pbs.org!

My car reeked, probable cause. They open the trunk and there's bottles in there. "sir you are under arrest for possesion of marijuana and minor in possesion of alcohol" which lands me instantly a few thousand in debt, with paying for a lawyer, paying for my stay in jail and paying off my fines to court. Not to mention the waste of my time doing court ordered community service. We didn't even make it to the party.

What.
And I am sure that every driver under influence thinks that he is is attentive and careful enough until he gets into an accident.
The first page of this thread is fucking ridiculous holy shit.

I just want to fucking cry right now. How can life be so shitty for these two little girls? The shit I'm finding out about these guys just goddamn.
Drugs really just fuck everything up. The girls' mom started fucking Don when she was 13 and he was 40. She got pregnant at 17 with Amara. then again at 22 with Emma. They were both so strung out, and Don is a fucking pervert and he would lock himself in his room with Amara and ugh
They both still pee the bed because of that sick fuck
She used to be able to visit him and whenever she would come back she would always talk about how her throat hurt...
Man is a rope stretched between beast and ubermensch. Unfortunately, this man happened to be a beast. There is nothing you can do about what he has done or what has been done, but you can do something about what will be done. You don't have any form of responsibility, but I think you do find yourself in a unique opportunity to be able to be a form of support for your friend.Keeping her strong will indirectly bring a support system for these girls.
Keep strong, my friend.
keyboard heroes. all of you saying you'd do anything differently can shut the fuck up. a lot of you make it painfully obvious you haven't been in this kind of situation before. why say anything if you have no idea what you're talking about?
my sympathies, OP.
I take it that Don is the guy that died, I hate saying this, but maybe it's better for the little girls now that he's gone..

Perhaps if youre near a city itd be like that.
But in remote locations, its different.
If you check and the guys dead, sure, its the same.
If hes alive, its different.
I grew up in Northern Maine, where in the summer, itd typically take 45 minutes for an ambulance/police to arrive.
In the winter, it could be anywhere from one hour to several hours.
Taking that into consideration, and how little some roads are traveled; whether you stop to help could mean the difference between someone living and dying.
One good example;
A few winters ago, at about 9pm, a girl lost control of her car and wrapped it around a telephone pole. She was knocked unconcious for a while, and spent about 30 minutes in her wrecked car, in 15F temperatures, before anyone went by on that road. They checked on her, made sure she was alive, and called 911. They then called the girls parents, both were away working. They then alerted people around town to bring some help. People brought blankets to keep her warm and other things. At this point, someone stopped at my house to ask for help. We got in my pickup (outfitted with plow rigging) and brought it to the scene. We carefully removed part of the 4ft tall snowbank and surrounding snow to make it easier for paramedics to get to her.
A fire truck finally arrived, about an hour after the initial 911 call, along with an ambulance. They cut the roof off the car, got her out, and decided they needed to call in a helicopter.
The girl survived, with just a few broken bones and bruises iirc.
Just shows, that its sometimes good to do something when you see an accident
I apologise for being an asshole, I got the wrong impression and acted poorly. It's not my place to criticise your actions in a stressful situation.
Sorry breakyourface. I hope you aren't too upset.
EDIT: WOAH, actually nevermind!

how to be a real mensch 101
owe up to it
good on you mate
All I have to say is that if the OP didn't explain his stupid story and tell us he was high for no reason, this would of been a very, very different thread.
Also facts of this thread:
- OP was high and since he was under the influence of evil Devil's Cabbage, he was unable to pull a Jesus MacGyver and save the victim from a crash.
- Smoking weed and driving is the same as driving under the influence of alcohol.
This thread is beyond ridiculous. It goes from everyone being assholes on both sides, to lets all have a group hug.

Thanks for coming around Angry, we'll get rid of the title for you because of it.
Cheers
