Not much of a fighting game fan but I'll check this out when it's cheap.
Yeah, like "pile of slime", "pokeball" and "eggs".
To be fair, slime is a common 80s-90s RPG trope and Voltorb/Electrode are intended to be chest monsters.
Floating ice cream and gears becoming slightly different gears, on the other hand . . . . [sp]I won't defend Magneton, Exeggcute, Jynx or Mr. Mime as concepts[/sp]

That's 3 out of 151. I don't think grimer/muk, voltorb, and exeggcute are that bad either.

And I think Magneton is cool.

Grimer, Muk and Ditto are all just slime and Voltorb and Electrode are just pokeballs so really it's 6 out of 151. Then you have all the really unoriginal ones which are literally just an animal like Seel, Pidgey, Spearow, Ratata, Persian, Farfetch'd, Magikarp, Ekans and a few others. A good chunk of the original 151 would be dismissed as unoriginal if they came out now.
Are amiibos confirmed for it or not?
Are amiibos confirmed for it or not?
It's way too early to be announcing amiibos for this game, but it's a pretty safe bet that the answer will be "Yes". They'd be mad not to release an amiibo for Pikachu Libre.
The Pokemon Company should stop trying to cram Pikachu down throats. Hawlucha was MEANT for this game, and, while having some nontypical combatants, more fighting types wouldn't hurt AT ALL.
But no, take 2 Pikachus.
Yeah, but one is enough.
So from the looks of it, does this play like a smaller-scale J-Stars game?
difference is j-stars is developed by a company who has no idea how to design a proper fighting game while harada is legit

That kind of stuff is in every generation though. New kinds of generic fish, birds, ect are always present. I think that kind of stuff gets sort of a pass (in later generations as well) since Pokemon are basically that world's animals.

I'm 100% sure they showed normal animals a couple of times in the anime, though that might've been unintentional.
Anyways, stuff like the Eeveelutions have some of the most generic designs, yet they're still also some of the most liked Pokémon. It's not a matter of originality, it's a matter of a likable design - and sometimes the basics just work, new or old gen.
Pikachu is the main selling point of the Pokemon series.
No it isn't? The main selling point of the Pokemon series is the huge variety of Pokemon, Pikachu is just the mascot.

I agree, because I don't have a problem with a chunk of the Pokemon that don't have "original" designs. Ditto was just mentioned, it may be a pile of slime but its a Pokemon that can transform into any other, which I always thought was neat.
And the fact it's a failed cloning experiment, rather than just animated sever goop.

that's just a fan theory
that's just a fan theory
Same signature moves, same stat pattern, same weight and size, you find them in the same place. Etc.
Official or not, that still makes it a lot more interesting than Muk or the likes.
Don't add anymore trash Pokemon and put in more 1st generation :ok:
Half the game is Gen 1 already so kindly be quiet and let actual Pokemon fans bitch about the character roster okay hun?
Half the game is Gen 1 already so kindly be quiet and let actual Pokemon fans bitch about the character roster okay hun?
I've been an actual Pokemon fan since red/blue :unimpressed:. It makes sense to add more gen 1 Pokemon because new fans and old fans know who they are.
Gen 1 having more fighters than any other Gens is not really a problem. As long as they got their fair share.
However what would be truly insulting, is still adding more Pikachus. As if Libre wasn't insulting enough.
I guess a fighting game is not a fighting game without clones. :unimpressed:

They did, but this was retconned entirely duriing gen 2 in the anime, much like the more heavily Japanese references of earlier episodes. Some "normal" bugs such as butterflies and bees do appear in the games though for what it's worth.
I heard on Facebook that this isn't the "main" Pokemon release for next year. That something else was coming to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
Gen 7 hype when?
Makes me wonder if any other Pokemon will be announced for pokken.

Super Mystery Dungeon is already this year, so there will definitely be another major release. X/Y 2 sounds likely, can't imagine they'd remake G4 already.
Or it could be a new Pokémon Stadium?
I'm very excited for this, though I've been playing Pokémon since 1998 and fighting games since 2005, it's sort of surreal to see Pokémon in a fighting game context. Not bad though, Pokken is looking like it'll be pretty fun.
I wonder if there will be any more console exclusive fighters.
I hope so, even one or two more would be nice to see.
Pikachu is the main selling point of the Pokemon series.
yeah but there is already one of him so
