Hawking is genuinely the stuff of legends. Its crazy how he's accomplished so much.

Religion is to war as science is to nuclear weapons. It's only one tiny aspect of a massive category that has done much more good than bad but has done both.

Some guy mis-judges something in a nuclear reactor, it's very possible many people for generations could be affected. And just like the crusades or the extremists in every major religion today,someone fucks up and does something wrong and skews the name of that religion and possibly injures/kills people.

Science WILL win. But religion shall have some ideas supported by science rooting from worldwide spirituality. Don't discount the thousands of years our ancestors around the world have spent staring at stars and thinking. I'm not saying they achieved scientific precision in their theories. But they were on to SOMETHING. All in all I think science will give birth to new kinds of spirituality and non dogmatic religion.
