Science can still fuck up though, just like any religion. Some guy mis-judges something in a nuclear reactor, it's very possible many people for generations could be affected. And just like the crusades or the extremists in every major religion today, someone fucks up and does something wrong and skews the name of that religion and possibly injures/kills people.

I'm trying to follow your argument, but i'm finding it pretty hard... Science is a methodology by which we look at something, make observations and draw conclusions. Religion is the same thing, but with the first two steps removed.
The fuck are you talking about? He was told when he was diagnosed he probably only had 2 or 3 years left. THAT WAS 47 YEARS AGO. If anyone has reason to believe in God it's him.

Yeah I dont know much about the true definition of science so im gonna stop posting here
Technically the knowledge can be bad, like the knowledge to make a super infectious and deadly disease, all scientific but terribly bad.
That knowledge is the product of much work in the biosciences. Epidemiology, genetic engeneering, general medical and biological science. All of which have non-horrible death applications. And was mainly assembled for non-horrible death purposes. A lathe can make gun barrels. It can also make parts for artifical limbs.

He said Hawking has every reason to believe there is no god because he has a debilitating disease, I said he has every reason to believe in god because he's survived with that disease 20 times longer than anyone expected him to, and then I made a 40k reference for fun. How is that the least bit asinine
Well I missed the 40k reference but your post read (to me) like you were implying that Hawking's continued survival was proof of the existence of god. My apologies for misinterpreting what you meant.
Technically the knowledge can be bad, like the knowledge to make a super infectious and deadly disease, all scientific but terribly bad.
Still not bad. How it's used may be. Science is about discovering objective truth. How it's used is up to people. The knowledge itself is not inherently harmful. A religion, on the other hand, can preach that its followers must hurt others. A neutral religion can be misinterpreted by its followers to justify violence, which is a case similar to the science one you mentioned, but just as easily a religion can actually promote being a dick.

It's okay. I wasn't arguing for anything except that while you can interpret his misfortune as injustice, he's also been very, very fortunate in other ways.

So many things wrong with this.
Crusades were based on killing others because they had a different belief.
Homer Simpson represents a simple human error, not an error on science and science adapts to the growing information collected about the universe. Religion doesn't, it is stagnant.
I sometimes think Steven Hawkings is the devil in disguise.
Am I a bad person?

Why would God create him like that in the first place?
Why would God create him like that in the first place?
Why would god create the devil?
Why would god be unable to smite something if it is all powerful?
Why would god put a talking snake in a garden?
Why would god put an apple he doesn't want people to eat in front of two people?
Why would he go PMS on them and not just magically make them uneat the apple?
Why does god create the universe on a schedule based on the time it take for the earth to rotate 360 degrees when the earth and sun originally did not exist?
Saw this while watching abc news yesterday, t'was awesome.
Steven Hawking is the second most awesome person ever. Right after Tesla.
Hurry rate me bad reading!
It's as if Hawking is some oracle.
He is becoming a religious doctrine.
^ I heard Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson say something to this effect on Coast to Coast.

oh, and if God is all powerful, that means he knows everything before it happens. that means that really we don't have the freedom to make our own choices, everything is predetermined, so how can we be judged? and also, if god knows everything that will happen, he would be kinda like Dr. Manhatten where everything has happened to him already, and if that true, then god can't choose what to do either, so he isnt all powerful, or the current idea of god is wrong, and maybe there is a god, but he doesnt do anything, he just is

Still doesn't make up for the fact that he got the disease.
So he got to live 43 years without being able to move anything but his cheek.
THANK YOU SO MUCH LORD THY ART SO KIND AND MERCIFUL.
Big whoop.

Jesus christ it was dead and dealt with. Don't bring it up again.
Isn't being disabled a sin
I'm sorry.
What?
Of course science will win. Either we disprove god, or we prove he actually exists. Either way, we just used science at some point there.
It's as stupid as saying the referees win in a hockey game.
Know ye not that ye are gods?
