that is what redditors get for fucking with goons
technically it was just a power struggle for the moon resources in that area
I've often thought it would be pretty cool to do an EVE Historian thing for fun, though. Fly around the universe in a covert ops ship, collecting cool stories and recording neat events, and whatnot. EVE is about the only thing where I can imagine that being interesting and worthwhile. Eve is cool like that.
Try it out! You write well, it could turn out great. There's a lot of stories us non-EVE folks would love to hear.
Is there a site that just reports on these badass events? I'd subscribe to something like that, especially with Goons being the most feared thing in the universe. [editline]28th July 2013[/editline]
Pfft. I don't know jack about the wider EVE community! I'm a total casual. I hop on for a couple months at a time once or twice a year. I've often thought it would be pretty cool to do an EVE Historian thing for fun, though.
Couldn't you go there and salvage some of the loot :v: ?
Oh I'm sure the goons have a scavenger fleet working right now
It's all about imagination! Like I love talking to people about my epic adventures in Eve because it sounds so cinematic and graceful, and the ship names really help to make it sound cool as fuck. Standard day in EVE: "Me and a friend were roaming nullsec looking for bad noobs to kill. I was in my Vagabond Autocannon HAC and my buddy was in his Ishtar Drone HAC. He jumped in and instantly found a baddie in a Sleipnir Command ship running a site in system. I waited on the gate whilst he pounced to lay down a point. He pointed him and I was through and there in seconds to provide scramble and DPS whilst the Ishtar got his heavy drones on the field. We were taking chunks out of the command ships' shield at this point. My MWD speedtank failed when the Sleipnir used a scrambler on his own, and I was unable to get out of range of his autocannons before they tore me up fast. Nevertheless, we'd inflicted mortal wounds on the Sleipnir and his tank was busted. Drones made short work of his armour and structure and we limped off bloody with a 'GF' in local." What actually happened: Moved the mouse a little bit. Pressed a few keys.

I was there, but after I got dropped, I just fell asleep, shit was late in my timezone. I still had the earbuds with fleet comms shouting right next to me when I fell asleep. Oh well, killboards are green #YOLO
And he's getting about 10fps
I don't think many people are getting higher frame rates, I saw one stream that was zoomed in and it was chugging really hard.
bda, rogueish space journalist on the look out for his next big story.
"Roguish Space Journalist" would be an awesome job title.
There's video up of the Titan that CFC lost.
So, I went to sleep. what's the outcome of it all? and where can I find the killmail list?
god that guy in the video is annoying as fuck [editline]29th July 2013[/editline] They should do something like this, but more shelled out, for what happened.
So, I went to sleep. what's the outcome of it all? and where can I find the killmail list?
The CFC steamrolled the TEST Alliance, two thousand and nine hundred ships have been destroyed, over two trillion credits in losses, and the CFC has seized the system. Salvage fleets are most likely en route to pick the field clean. The Goonswarm armada will most likely remain for a bit to clean up stragglers and roving marauders.
They should do something like this, but more shelled out, for what happened.
I never realized how retarded that video is. Abaddons engaging at 200km, and apparently still somehow doing damage, and the FC wants a fucking interceptor to burn at the enemy for a warp-in, you could probe them down in half the time and land right on them at facefuck-range.
It looks cool though and the trailer isn't really to educate on the game but more to have 'splosions for da kids.
So now that the dust has settled, what does this battle mean for the galactic community? It looks like TEST has been dealt a severe blow here, but I'm presuming they'll stay a cohesive threat against the CFC. However, will this change the ongoing conflict, or is this just a case of 'winning the battle, not the war'?

Are there any videos with the reddit perspective or audio from whatever voice system they were using?
Are there any videos with the reddit perspective or audio from whatever voice system they were using?
don't know if there was anybody streaming or recording audio, but here's an audio recording from the aftermath https://soundcloud.com/phyber_0ptik/test-alliance-after-6vdt-sota
So is the TEST skull-fuckery over yet?
can't wait for one MMO where actual pilot skill and realtime control plays role, not dice roll turn combat (which eve is), and collision and variety in space environment giving tactical options ... ... there is hope but still far away ...
So, looks like space-Stalingrad ended with TEST getting completely annihilated. Neat.
Is there a counter on how much ISK was lost through the whole battle?
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of other alliances. A day will come again when the courage of Test fails, when we forsake our allies and break all nips and agreements. But it is not this day. An hour of prophecies and AHAC wrecks when the age of Test comes crashing down. But it is not this day. This day we fight. By all that you hold dear in Nullsec, I bid you, stand. Pilots of Test!

The foe is doing morale pings with LOTR quotes. We're not going to bother with a morale ping because we're in the system first, we have seven Baltecfleets, one AHAC fleet, two Bomber wings, one FuckYouFleet, and yeah.
to me, this kind of sums up the difference between reddit and SA succinctly
