I really would like to see a FPS war game of Canada vs U.S, showing the United states as the enemy.
Except Canada would need Russia to be an ally for any reasonable success. But it still shows Russia as the good guys for a change.
I really would like to see a FPS war game of Canada vs U.S, showing the United states as the enemy.
I'd like to see a game with Canada fighting someone else for a change instead of this focus on the US
I really really want to play a game where you get to bomb Americans/British/other "democracies" from a "terrorist" perspective
Well I do love suicide bombing people in games.
I'd love it if developers started creating more fictional worlds for shooters to take place on. On top of removing controversy because the two sides don't even exist, it can allow for a better plotline, because there is an entire world to tell stories about, free of restrictions from historical facts. Take Ace Combat, for example:

Moral of this : stop taking recent, modern events to make your god damn games, it's only causing trouble and it's getting really boring.
I love how EA's response was just "Oh well, at least they won't pirate it!". At least they have their priorities straight ritegaiz?
EA did not really care about the game being sold in Iran anyways, apparently battlelog blocks Iranian IP's from using it anyways.
No one cares what EA thinks, it's what the customers think. And I bet they aren't happy that first they can't legally buy the game because EA does not support the region and now it even becomes illegal.
I bet there isn't much players in Iran, let alone customers.
Despite what you think, Iran has a relatively average games industry. Infact they have some titles on Steam to my knowledge.
ummmm that isn't the game, this is
soldier of fortune 2 engine? [editline]29th November 2011[/editline] Wait...Far cry 1? I think for sure it's far cry 1
I'm pretty sure I picked up a copy (just to expirement etc.) from a local flee market here, but never got around to playing it due to some really weird DRM, you need to send a text message to receive the serial code. Let me see if I can find it.
Terrorists are concerned about piracy? That's...odd.
[sp]Isn't there a part in BF3 where you shoot your CO?[/sp]
"All computer stores are prohibited from selling this illegal game,"
Uh, yeah dude, generally when something is prohibited it is illegal, and when something is illegal, it is prohibited.
BF3 is banned. MW3 IS NOT! (even in Russia)
BF3 is banned. MW3 IS NOT! (even in Russia)
Because even Russia knows MW3 is implausible. Also Russia actually kicks America's ass on their own soil in MW3, they aren't gonna complain :v:
I don't know why developers haven't stepped up to the plate yet. Perhaps fear of government reprisal? It would be a horrifying experience to play as an insurgent character. If MW2 could do it, why not the controversial topic? Imagine your friend Hallak get blown up by a US Barrett .50cal while you have to navigate a concrete jungle, careful not to be shot by the 1-mile sniper in order to safely get to your daughter and wife. Time-trial to gun it to your house to save your family before explosive artillery and kill-everything-moving USMC get to them. Defend your hometown from the invading army and play the story of a martyr for a cause he believes in. Cliffhanger ending where your co-worker tells you to go on and evacuate while he awaits the Humvee convoy to detonate IED. Would make for interesting story and perspective maybe?
oh, you mean play as an enemy of a larger force. yes, i like games like that
I'd like to see the other side for a change, the difficulties and bravery of insurgent forces fighting a numerically and technologically superior force. And the only FPS WW2 game with a full German campaign was RO2, and that was terrible. Would be nice to have lots of games from the other side, I don't think America is immature enough to not buy games from different perspectives. I can understand the issues that Iran has with the game, though this is a little bit of an overeaction.
Too bad because it's the greatest online shooter ever.
Too bad because it's the greatest online shooter ever.
No it isnt. Its maps are poorly designed, nobody uses teamwork, there is no VOIP, the UI designer at DICE is a moron and I could go on.
Too bad because it's the greatest online shooter ever.
Quake 3
Quake 3
By today's standards quake 3 is generic.
do this people ban movies too? they should ban the internet because it has porn and everyone can watch it! even kids D:
By today's standards quake 3 is generic.
Generic doesn't always equal bad.
It just equals old and boring
I'm not surprised, and I'm not particularly upset about it either. I don't blame DICE for using the cliche "we atak the midle east at dawn" storyline, but what would we be doing if Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Russia, were all putting out huge multimillion dollar hit games where you stab Americans from behind and call them a motherfucker?
Nothing because 1st Amendment.
Funny thing is how he mentions steam. Have fun downloading a 15 gb game at a blazing 10 kb/s at best. Also, copyright laws do not exist in Iran, at least not from the rest of the world so no wonder they sell pirated copies.
Makes sense
Too bad because it's the greatest online shooter ever.
Bf3 is good, but RO2 combat is alot more intense.
