It's just three white guys trying to be those three Jamaican bobsledders. What the hell is wrong with that? Are you saying that people can't try to closely resemble the characters they're trying to portray if they do a shitty job at it?
What if a black person puts on blackface? are they like, super racists? Oh Oh Oh can I call black clowns racist too? I mean they wear white face paint...
-quote-
That was exactly my point.

As a black dude I thank the whole thread for defending me and saying that I would be totally offended and dehumanized by this shocking travesty, thank you facepunch for so passionately arguing the most inane things again.
In Australia blackface isn't a thing.
remember this shit

A bit of devil's advocatry here, why is men dressing up in drag never considered sexist?
A bit of devil's advocatry here, why is men dressing up in drag never considered sexist?
cause it doesn't have a history of being sexist
Because people don't whine and make it sexist.
not like blackface has a history of being racist nope not at all
A bit of devil's advocatry here, why is men dressing up in drag never considered sexist?
because dressing "in drag" is generally not done to turn yourself into a caricature of another person. blackface is.

Just like so many other people were.
You must have been really pissed off when you found out a white guy played a black guy in Tropic Thunder. Makeup to look actually black rather than to look like a caricature of black is massively fucking different.
You must have been really pissed off when you found out a white guy played a black guy in Tropic Thunder. Just like so many other people were.
idk i never watched the movie, the point isn't that i would be offended, the point is that blackfacing is known to be offensive therefore don't get surprised when people are offended?
