I've only managed to play MGS since I have trouble getting PS2 emulators to work and I don't own a PS3.

That was done by Platinum, not Kojima Productions sadly.
hopefully MGS4 will some time soon, it's the only one I haven't played other than MGS5

revengence was an amazing port and Kojima said optimizing the fox engine for pc is easy.

Id rebuy GZ in a heartbeat for PC, I got it on PS3 for $20 and its fucking amazing, if you like MGS and MGS gameplay especially, get it, its so fucking good. Main campaign is really short, can be done in minutes if you know what to do, but thats hardly anything, ive already pumped 30+ hours in it and I still have a lot of trials and ranks I gotta get.
Dont buy it just for story, its short and sweet and very well done, but its not super important at all, like no huge revelations and its gonna be recapped in MGSV anyways. Its a very serious MGS though, dont expect jokes and one liners, especially in the main mission. One of the most brutal as well, very graphic cassette tapes which fill in for lack of codec.
[sp]Paz entire PW diary is unlocked at the very start so if you want the backstory on her you can get it right in the game which you should listen to if you never played PW[/sp]
But you really should play PW or at least watch videos on the story since GZ is like 2 weeks after the end of PW.

Oh nice, I'll probably get a PS4 but not for MGS5 now.
I can still lie down with a controller a play just like I would with my PS3.
