grand theft auto 3, VC, and SA all have massive issues when playing the game without the frame limiter enabled. every gta pc port is awful.
They all were a lot better than IV though. Most issues could be fixed by forcing V-sync through a third party control panel.
I'm not even hyped for a gta V to come out on pc anymore, its a last-gen title and there are more interesting games coming out soon for the pc like Witcher 3.
I seem to remember GTA IV took 20x longer to load if you enabled/disabled(cant remember which) vsync.

I still want RDR on PC
I still want RDR on PC
Never gonna happen, they lost the source code of the game.
Plus RDR was a patch work job with the engine apparently.
Just announce it already, you shitlords. God damn.
the problem with gta v coming out on pc is that it's probably going to suck compared to IV. iirc it's on the same engine that max payne 3 was on, and we all saw how far modding went with that game. i'm basically begging rockstar to prove me wrong, though. i'd double dip if the game had great mod support and better visuals.
You serious? I think the main issue with MP3 modding is that nobody cared enough to do it. It's not really a super open game, mind you. [editline]17th January 2014[/editline]
I can't be the only person that was annoyed by how the engine was trying to kill itself with the redline in that video.
Isn't that pretty much how GTAV engine sounds work, though?
Saints Row 2.
Dark souls. Release day.
Dark souls. Release day.
DSfix was ready 7 minutes after the creator got the game [sp]Due to the fact he'd already coded a bunch of it prior to release, of course, but still.[/sp]
Never gonna happen, they lost the source code of the game.
Do you mean like, legally they "lost" it as they don't have the rights to it or whatever, or do you mean that they actually don't have a copy of it anywhere?

GTA V on PC would fill in for all gameplay mechanics in MP3, and then some. There is no point. The only reason MP3 didn't get far into modding is because GTA V is eventually going to come out on PC, and when that happens everyone will mod for GTAV; not MP3. It's basically pointless from gtaforum's perspective (where most people go about modding rockstar titles). Max Payne 3 is very low on the priorities when it comes to modding.
Dark souls. Release day.
Dark Souls was perfectly playable on PC at launch. The only problems it had suffered was locked FPS and resolution. And even then, DSFix came out shortly after.
You're both wrong. I did a lot of research on this earlier, and the main reason Max Payne 3 modding is years behind is because Rockstar fortified it with IronWrapper "on steroids" to lock the core files in a figurative 5-foot thick vault, probably to cut down on cheating in multiplayer. That combined with a lack of interest in trying to crack Ironwrapper is why it's so far behind. The files in V are very open, which is why we (had) billionaire hackers and are porting the map to IV; so it's probably not going to be an issue unless they use improved Ironwrapper with the PC release for some ridiculous reason. [editline]a[/editline]
Did IV have the same thing? I remember the only mods you could really get for a long time were texture mods, full meshes feel quite recent
No, it was only in MP3 and I think LA Noire as well, which is pretty weird. IV just had poor/no mod support supplied by Rockstar. After 5 years of learning the mechanics of RAGE engine, we probably don't need much anymore.
"Lost the source code." Literally means that they don't have the original coding behind the game any more.
I have no idea how they could actually manage to do that.
Just remembered now. Samoht took part in a toxx clause because his "reliable sources" told him GTA V would never come to PC. If it does get announced, Craptasket gets to permaban him.
"Lost the source code." Literally means that they don't have the original coding behind the game any more.
Wasn't the code only held together with digi-duct-tape anyways? It would have been a major hassle just to begin to port RDR to PC.
Never gonna happen, they lost the source code of the game.
Hah! You can't fool us, we all know RDR is on the Euphoria engine and not Source. :downs:
grand theft auto 3, VC, and SA all have massive issues when playing the game without the frame limiter enabled. every gta pc port is awful.
This is the same team that did Max Payne 3 right? So it should be okay.

Either way neither of them are PC. [editline]18th January 2014[/editline]
Talking about the new one
Yeah, but that's not really a thirdperson shooting game, which is what Rockstar is really known for. [editline]18th January 2014[/editline] But then there's Agent, which hasn't come out yet, so yeah.
