Wouldn't have surprised me if that's what the title had been
I don't judge Australia off just its government you know, its people as well. The number of reports of racism towards different ethnic groups there that I've read have been one too many. Especially the one against students from India, that shit was ridiculous.
I've been there, it's as if you guys can't tolerate anything but whites, seriously. If I was making a judgement from my own opinion, that'd be fine, but my P.E teacher also taught their for a year in one of those teacher exchange things and he said the kids and community are absolute shit. The treatment they got is awful while teaching there.
All in all Australia is a shit hole of a country too live in, and don't pull some USA comeback out of your ass on me since I'm Canadian eh.
you are so wrong
the media has overblown the entire "indian student" shit, nobody i've talked to in my entire life hates indians. i think like 5 people got bashed in a year (compared to 300 or so australians) and :crying: "aussies are racist towards indians" :crying:
secondly, our teachers and community here is probably better than anywhere in the world. your PE teacher probably taught in in the middle of the most run down neighbourhood ever.
lum1naire is intelligent and can definitely base an opinion on entire country because of news reports.
:smugdog:
[editline]06:54PM[/editline]
And not one person in my entire school has said anything about Indians. Honestly, I don't understand how people are so stupid these days.
[editline]06:58PM[/editline]
Damnit, I just realised I got trolled.

all over in the world they teach of your ethnic intollerance in school... don't you think it's a fact when it's taught as part of your culture?

Are you kidding me? Australia isn't racist at all. It's not very smart to judge everyone based on a few cunts who bashed some indians, (media overblew it heaps too).
Australias actually really multicultural because all throughout the 20'th century, we had different waves of immigrants coming from different continents, and it's still on going. Right now alot of africans are coming in, before that, asians, before that, mediteranians.
It also depends on where you are, there are shit hole suburbs, but there are in america too.

All over the world, people think we're all beach going surfey guys, or kangaroo riding outback farmers, everyone thinks we have kangaroos jumping through our streets and that we speak with thick, hard to understand accents. We live in australia, we'd know better than you.
What the above person said. It's annoying when people think they've mastered the knowledge of all other countries and can judge them because of the acts of the few.
Makes sense :crossarms:

Sigh
When I read the thread name, I wondered "How can you ban the weather from pouring hail?"

The same way they do other things in parliament. Write down things on papers and if it happens then it means you're being effectual. If it doesn't then apologise for it afterwards.
USA is the worst, tbh.
Europe is worse- oh wait, no europe is great.

its good that ethnic intolerance is being taught in your schools then
you're not very smart
Uhh you guys know I'm not basing it off the media, but off real life examples. My cousin was in Australia during all that Indian hate shit and the way he said sure as fuck didn't seem 'blown' over. I've been there once myself.. didn't like it. Maybe I had an unlucky experience by chance and so did that teacher, who knows.

Depends on where you went. It's not like every indian Indian was in danger, it was like 5 or 6 that got bashed. And you can't fairly base what you're saying off a second hand tale, it could easily be a case of exaggeration or Chinese whispers.
Also, once again, i live in australia, i'd know quite alot more about it.
USA is the worst, tbh.
I'd argue with you, but instead I'm going to play video games, none of which have been banned.
holy shit, what does god have to do to finish them off

No videogames have actually been banned, only censored. The only one which anyone cares about was L4D2. Because one guy refuses to sign the document which will allow another rating.
Just because a videogame got censored, you're saying americas a better country? Thats poor logic.
I feel like I missed out because I was underground in a bowling alley for the majority of this.
Luckily for me none of the water got in...
Over here in Broken Hill NSW we had about 6 or so hours of hail, not nearly as strong as Eastern Coast cities got, but the town here isn't built to withstand so we suffered a lot of damage to windows and cars, but as said not as bad as places like Melbourne.
But if anyone remembers, last year we had an enormous dust storm here when the sky went black at 2pm, now that was nasty, I would show a picture but I can't find it, so 'ill upload picture of the aftermath.
And to people talking about banning words in Australia, we kinda did do that, we banned the word 'mate' for use in parliament.
Our main streets were like rivers, my mate was in the city and he had to wade in waist high water to get to the train.
I have a cracked window, it was a spectacular storm. The waterfall (like 5 feet tall) near my house was running flat for two days because the river was so flooded.

for a week. it got unbanned because it was fucking stupid.
Holy hell, I didn't know about that. Australia seems to have lost all of what little culture we originally had (Not an insult as much, we're one of the youngest western nations in the world, and we came here with a bunch of other existing cultures to begin with, so we kind of got the short end of the stick, and then Globalisation kicks in.) if we can't even say "Mate" because it's informal.
I live in melbourne and I was assaulted by hailstones and they stole my wallet :(
