Can the Republican Party not stop people from running? I mean; logically all Trump is going to do is hurt their image and scare away the Hispanic vote they are trying to get with his xenophobia

The best the GOP can do is withdraw party funds from their campaign, but I don't see them stopping a possible candidate of theirs from trying their best. In the end, the party as a whole only cares about finding the one who can win them the presidency.
Trump says something about keeping guns, American populace is won over.
Sanders is actually relatively pro-gun, at least compared to most Democrats.
Imagine a Donald Trump vs Bernie Sanders campaign, holy shit would that be intense.
Trump vs Sanders would be the most entertaining to watch.
Trump would just sit there saying "this man will take all your property and guns because he's a socialist" Then Bernie would try to explain why that's retarded and trump would respond by saying the exact same thing over again
Donald "We have stupid people" Trump Donald "We need global warming" Trump Donald "I don't want to use the word 'screwed', but I screwed him" Trump Donald "My I.Q. is one of the highest" Trump Donald "It was a great night for Mexico" Trump
if trump becomes president i will revolt
if trump becomes president i will revolt
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are pissed off if that asshole ever becomes president. Even in Nebraska, where a lot of republicans live (actually, quite a bit of them know about Bernie sanders, so thats good) they hate the living shit out of Donald Trump, they all hate the asshole with a passion.
If I had to guess, based on this the GOP will probably do the same strategy as last time, leading with their most batshit insane candidate just to replace him with someone moderately sane later down the line (making the new guy look like Jesus by comparison). I wouldn't be surprised if they won over some moderate/independent voters with that tactic, just by getting them to think "hey I'd rather have this guy than Trump!".

Everyone in the race for the White House is doing it either to win it or get name recognition for down the road.
Trump says something about keeping guns, American populace is won over.
Literally all Sanders would have to do is say, "well I think firearm rights are very important and the second amendment is absolutely there to protect the first." Then it's back to the socialist vs reality show star. (let's face it, who the fuck knows about him otherwise?)
I think Trump is probably the best candidate out of the bunch. A corporation will offer him money and he'll just say "nah, I'll do what I want, I can make my own money". [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] by the bunch I mean GOP.

Keep in mind that the President's biggest powers are over the army and international relations.
I hope someone shits on Trump's toupee how the hell could anybody want a person that bankrupt four casinos as president
Scott Walker completely screwed Wisconsin, only an idiot would vote for him for president. They have billboards on the highway that are still trying to convince people that Walker is good for the state. MN v WI is a good comparison of leadership since the last election
as true as that is, he pushes all the right conservative buttons: denies climate change, he thinks Islamic terrorists are the greatest threat to future generations, his economic platform is "jobs" (bootstraps, yo) while I hope that most voters are willing to do the small amount of research necessary to see he's a bad candidate, I wouldn't discount his ability to pander
