I still don't get the mindset of going to non porn things to look at porn If you want to look at boobs just fucking find a porn site
I think it's more for content creators. People who draw their own porn, use CG programs like Source Filmmaker, etc. It's free hosting, a very intuitive interface, and it's free publicity because of the tagging system. I never understood the appeal of using Tumblr to find porn, especially porn that is created professionally, but using it to share one's own work I can understand.
Wait. Tumblr makes a distinction between "NSFW" and "Adult"? When I went to make a Tumblr some time ago, there was just a "NSFW" tag. I don't remember seeing anything about adult. What exactly is/was the distinction, and how was it made? I'm curious now. :v:
I think adult is stuff that would get an M rating in other media and NSFW is that + everything just below. Like 16+ rated material or something.
Excellent work Yahoo, I'm sure this won't alienate any Tumblr users or anything!
i won't mind if it alienates people who look at pornographic 'loil' material or whatever
some people are saying they only removed the tags for non-logged in users and users who have adult filters on. This true?
It is. It seems that the internal search still finds plenty of porn. For me at least.
i won't mind if it alienates people who look at pornographic 'loil' material or whatever
That's the same reason Australia took so long with the M rating for video games, huh? Well, at least it looks that way from my perspective. I mainly use tumblr to keep track of artists, not all of which just draw happy little trees.
My Tumblr seems to be unaffected by this.
it's okay because it's not something that i like on a site that i like people shouldn't be allowed do enjoy things that i don't anyway
How to see porn on tumblr searches;

Bahahah, is Tumblr used for anything but porn??
Ok wait this doesn't make any sense... Am I not supposed to be seeing anything when I search for nsfw tags on Tumblr? Because I get a whole bunch of nsfw stuff when I do.
Ok wait this doesn't make any sense... Am I not supposed to be seeing anything when I search for nsfw tags on Tumblr? Because I get a whole bunch of nsfw stuff when I do.
NSFW can be seen, just not Adult.
Those fools... removing Tumblr's erotic and pornographic material will kill it. They are going down this path..
What exactly is the difference between NSFW posts and adult posts?
i won't mind if it alienates people who look at pornographic 'loil' material or whatever
surprisingly most of the porn on tumblr is just run of the mill mainstream pornography with a b&w filter as gifs, there's very little "deviant" stuff beyond some bsdm
Bahahah, is Tumblr used for anything but porn??
well, for blogs all kinds of blogs porn fandom hipster thought literature video photography whatever
What exactly is the difference between NSFW posts and adult posts?
One's talking about issues with sexuality, one is intended to masturbate to.
One's talking about issues with sexuality, one is intended to masturbate to.
Well doesn't Google by nature avoid showing porn content?
NSFW can be seen, just not Adult.
Oh, ignore me then.
Well doesn't Google by nature avoid showing porn content?
Only if you set it to.
Those fools... removing Tumblr's erotic and pornographic material will kill it. They are going down this path..
to be honest, good riddance. i don't wanna see people reblogging smut on my dashboard. i go there for lo-fi and glitch art, not stuff like that
DON'T TOUCH MY PORN YOU FUCKS
to be honest, good riddance. i don't wanna see people reblogging smut on my dashboard. i go there for lo-fi and glitch art, not stuff like that
Than don't follow it and don't follow people who reblog that kind of stuff.
Only if you set it to.
No, even with safesearch off it still does some weird filtering thing unless you use very explicit phrases. For example, "big dick" image searching does not produce many (expected) results, and "big tits" to a lesser extent as well. It's only once you get into slightly more specific phrases such as "big dick blowjob" or "big tits fuck" where you see nudity. Compare to bing, which seems much more loose with its results. I can't believe i wrote an in-depth analysis on explicit image searching.
Well doesn't Google by nature avoid showing porn content?
as well as safe search, google will take what you want as implicit from your query, if you search specificly for porn you'll likely get it
It is sad day
to be honest, good riddance. i don't wanna see people reblogging smut on my dashboard. i go there for lo-fi and glitch art, not stuff like that
Then don't follow them you idiot. I met several artists through tumblr and one of them she told me how she liked the fact that the place was a great community for adult content, and where they could share stuff and generally not be judged harshly for it unlike other communities. She and a bunch of other artists I know draws plenty of porn and my girlfriend follows a bunch of adult blogs there too. A lot of artists are now getting their stuff completely isolated by this policy and its screwing them over. If you think that this sneaky censorship policy is a justified "good riddance" to stuff you don't like, then fuck you. I take it people like you are the main reason why she tells me that she hates many other communities for their judgmental attitude.
why are you taking this so personally lmao
Because you want something to be banned just because you can't filter it out lmao
as little as this affects the porn on my dash, im sort of worried that this is just the first step to dismantling the site
