Can a moderator please ban "Vasili"'s alts? So far it's Mr.Infected, The Emperor, clockbuster1818, and missionary. I've no problem debating, but this guy is abusing alts to rate me dumbs.

That's exactly what I'm saying too. Vasili, however used his 4 alts to rate everyone who disagreed with him a "dumb" rating, and to rate all of his posts an "agree". Please report him (I've already done), for flaming. Seriously, look on page 5 of this thread. He uses all of his alts rate everyone he disagrees with negative ratings, and himself agrees.

I don't care either way, and I find people arguing over whose country has more of a cultural impact in regard to a specific tradition a bit silly considering cultural diffusion is an incredibly complex process that can't be pinned down to some black and white "my country had more of an influence!" statement.

Holy crap, somebody who is actually aware that Scots was a language in it's own right that ended up perverting (and then dieing out) due to the interaction with England from the 16th century onwards.
The closest you'll find to true Scots these days is in areas that still speak Doric, which is really a dialect of Scots. (And why it's incomprehensible to most people)

The reason why the Commissions is unelected is because the member-states themselves agreed (and that includes the UK) doesn't want them to be elected in the first place. The same way the General-Secretary of the UN is also not elected. It's called "Intergovernmentalism". But then, Europhobes also hate to see a properly functioning central government. So, there's no pleasing them since they're morons.
How do they think it would work? It is not like the president of the parliment has any real power, i could see a point if he had actual executive power.
Cameron vetoed the new economic deadlock.
For the moment it seems they've come to the conclusion there will be a split, but a sudden breakdown is not happening now. We will have to wait until march 2012 to conclude anything at the moment, however I think we can be assured that the UK fucked up with their "forever alone" moment, which will have a huge impact on the eurozone as a whole.
I guess the Tory name is very accurate. It means "Outlaw".
