Can a moderator please ban "Vasili"'s alts? So far it's Mr.Infected, The Emperor, clockbuster1818, and missionary. I've no problem debating, but this guy is abusing alts to rate me dumbs. Infact, clockbuster1818, and missionary were both created 2 days ago. An odd coincidence, don't you think?
I believe you fail at supplying arguments, and instead resort to creating new accounts to rate me dumbs and funnies, and to rate yourself agrees. Grow up. And I suspect that Mr.Infected is your alt, or a friend, and you logged in on his account to rate me and you, and to leave that comment. The last post he has before that one is from almost a year ago. Seriously man, grow up.
Oh god you're hilariously paranoid.
yeah thats totally it i made accounts to make you look bad thats totally it!! why don't you grow up and stop being so paranoid
I'm not an idiot man, on all of those accounts posts, the only times they are used is to back up "Vasili" and to rate him agrees and to rate whoever Vasili is arguing with dumbs and disagrees. [editline]13th December 2011[/editline]
Oh god you're hilariously paranoid.
Look at those guys post history, and you'll see what I mean. I'm not paranoid, but I'm not an idiot.
ITT:Debate about Halloween History
yeah its true I think they are just British traditions made global through American commercialization
this is the point I was trying to make. The commercialisation of Halloween, the overt decorations, the gaudy costumes, the drinking, the party music all that shit is American in creation. If it had never gotten over to America it would be completely different

Vasili, however used his 4 alts to rate everyone who disagreed with him a "dumb" rating, and to rate all of his posts an "agree". Please report him (I've already done), for flaming. Seriously, look on page 5 of this thread. He uses all of his alts rate everyone he disagrees with negative ratings, and himself agrees.

So I wouldn't doubt Caesar. [editline]14th December 2011[/editline] and so is clockbuster1818 and so is Emperor. so yes they're his alts.
Oh my god why do you care about ratings so much?
I think the better question is why did someone care about ratings that they created a bunch of alts. Kinda sad. Also kinda pointless. [editline]14th December 2011[/editline]
There are a lot of English people.
Lots of English people posting from his house, then? Somehow I doubt that. [editline]14th December 2011[/editline]
There are a lot of English people.
Lots of English people posting from his house, then?
And being extremely butthurt about a few tiny pictures isn't sad?
Go back to 4chan. I don't care either way, and I find people arguing over whose country has more of a cultural impact in regard to a specific tradition a bit silly considering cultural diffusion is an incredibly complex process that can't be pinned down to some black and white "my country had more of an influence!" statement.
Scots died out from the mid sixteenth century because written Scots was increasingly influenced by the Standard English of England due to developments in royal and political interactions with England. Scots was never a bastard version of English, it comes from Germanic language variety. It died out because it was not really treated as a language, not because of culture change.
Holy crap, somebody who is actually aware that Scots was a language in it's own right that ended up perverting (and then dieing out) due to the interaction with England from the 16th century onwards. The closest you'll find to true Scots these days is in areas that still speak Doric, which is really a dialect of Scots. (And why it's incomprehensible to most people)

Good luck.

It is exactly this kind of retoric that in the end leads to wars.

Countries need to stick together in times of crisis. Traditions or that be damned. I laughed when he said Britain is a successful country enjoying 1000 years of independence. Britain's golden age ended years ago, and all that's left is peoples deluded belief in that their shitty rock in the North sea is still a world power.

That guy is such a clown. Just throw them out already, then wait until the UK comes back begging (feel sorry for all the Brits that have common sense and realize leaving the EU is a very bad idea, but countries that don't want to be in have to go). Loved how he gets told by the Scottish guy afterwards.
The Lib Dems are the junior partners in the coalition; if there's a policy conflict they lose out.
But they are part of the coalition. Like it or not, you have to make them happy to some degree. Otherwise if relation breaks between the two, say goodbye to the coalition. That's why we had a referendum about the voting system, in the first place. Do you think that the Tories genuinely wanted that? [editline]14th December 2011[/editline]

The reason why the Commissions is unelected is because the member-states themselves agreed (and that includes the UK) doesn't want them to be elected in the first place. The same way the General-Secretary of the UN is also not elected. It's called "Intergovernmentalism". But then, Europhobes also hate to see a properly functioning central government. So, there's no pleasing them since they're morons.
How do they think it would work? It is not like the president of the parliment has any real power, i could see a point if he had actual executive power.
Cameron vetoed the new economic deadlock.
For the moment it seems they've come to the conclusion there will be a split, but a sudden breakdown is not happening now. We will have to wait until march 2012 to conclude anything at the moment, however I think we can be assured that the UK fucked up with their "forever alone" moment, which will have a huge impact on the eurozone as a whole.
I guess the Tory name is very accurate. It means "Outlaw".
