Yes. However, if I remember right, there are quite a few stretches of Autobahn in Germany that were designed to fulfill this role.

holy shit. I shat bricks when i heard the engines cut out. That has to be one of the worst feelings and sounds to hear. Being in a plane and just feeling the plane stop vibrating and no engine noise. They acted so calmly too.
