Hey guess what
It will be just as bad.
This thread has turned into a BF3 VS MW3 argument! I knew it
I don't see a reason not enjoy both of the games.

lol
This is why I believe people like you have NEVER even touched a call of duty case or even watched a video about call of duty. CoD is known for it's great cinematic campaigns, BF is known for it's great and fun multiplayer. The campaign for COD has been great since the very first in the series.
I never played BF3, I'll give you that. But EVERYBODY says the campaign is utter shit. That alone would discourage me from buying it, as I always play single player first in ANY new game I get.
IP != physical location.
Ip = The address of your computer, it's not hard to be under a great VPN though... Then it's impossible to fine out without any external ports open...
Considering the polarizing opinions on MW3, it's doubtful they'll lose many sales from this as the people who love CoD still will buy it for its multiplayer (since that's the main draw anyways) and people who hate the franchise will either ignore it or pirate it.
Don't blame Activision for losing their shit, though.
UAV at 3 kills
Not so fast! You'll need 4 now :v:
Anyway, why do people want to get the game a week earlier? Its not like they can do much with it, since its probably locked.
[editline]30th October 2011[/editline]
Why would you even pirate this shit, let alone buy it?
Because people like it?
Also, whats the big deal in this anyway?
Every game for PC always gets pirated, and in this case, it always sells millions of copies. I'd expect them to do worse then before just because of releasing after BF3, not because some guy pirated the PC version.
I don't see a reason not enjoy both of the games.
The price.
The god damn price.
I'm not paying 50€ for a PC game, let alone 70€ for a console one, if it's so short and rehashed.

You base cod length on SP? Haha. Like bf, cod is all about mp. And if you enjoy that sort of mp, it can last much more than 8 hours. If you don't, then don't buy it. But also don't pirate, since pirating "because it's too short and too expensive" is a retarded reason.
In Call of Duty, the enemy Ai uses aim bot to shoot at you. They know where you are. Your friendly ai are fucking useless.
Expect MW3 to be full of scripted events, indestructible walls, Ai that can shoot you from 1km away and explosions
This piracy will not affect the sales anyways

But guess what, no one gives a shit about SP.
Most people buy cod for mp and most don't even touch SP.
COD sp never had a proper story really. It's either reenacting the past or fictioning the future. Both of them are boring as shit. But MP is quite a fun couch shooter. You just sit down and blast some killstreaks. No need to stress about advanced tactics or squads.

I only bought Cod4, mw2 and black ops for the story and then play the mp. The MP is fine and very fast paced, so when you're feeling super trigger happy cod does the trick whereas bf3 is all simulator and you need to run around 500miles just to find some badies to take down. Don't get me wrong here but I enjoy BF3 too but I just think CoD's over powered behavior counter parting with its fast paced action is a good idea.
silly activision. how did they let this happen?

People enjoy Call of Duty singleplayer?
You base cod length on SP? Haha. Like bf, cod is all about mp. And if you enjoy that sort of mp, it can last much more than 8 hours. If you don't, then don't buy it. Hence the "rehashed" part. The multiplayer hasn't changed at all since CoD4 - just more unbalanced content. New maps and a few more guns aren't worth 70 bucks.
you just described bf3s sp PERFECTLY
BF3 single player was atrocious
Lets see this is what I think is right:
1:Steam encryption has nothing todo with this as people are alreaddy playing it, (so they must have got it working somehow)
2:The guy that stole it did it for money.
3:This will not affect sales because 90% of the people who buy cod want to play multiplayer which you cannot do on a pirated copy.
4:BF3 SP doesnt suck and neither has any COD SP they are just not as deep as Deus Ex or something wich is fine. Would be boring if everything was the same.
5:They can track your IP down to your ISP and demand the adress of the person using that IP, how fast this goes and if its even allowed depends on the laws in your country.
6:COD and BF are both great series which both have some flaws (both in game and via the publisher) that I will not mention here.
Disclaimer:
I have battlefield 1942, vietnam, 2 and 3.
I have COD 1, United offensive, 2, 4, mw2 and played: WAW and BLOPS SP.
Apparently the game is 2 discs?
Might be a rumour.
Steam encrypted game cannot be cracked. It's impossible.
But if it was a cd version, then it wasn't encrypted because putting encrypted files on a cd is stupid as shit.
Thats not true.

No one is playing the PC version. No steam decryption keys = impossible to play.
God this thread is so heated I could use it as my furnace
Thats not true.
It is. Unless you have a huge computer farm to brute force the encryption. And even if you do, it doesn't come with all files. When you preload the game they send you most of the game, not all of it.

Most CoD games have had a great singleplayer experience, especially before Modern Warfare 2.
Their game is spyware and sends all the data it can get from your pc.
so firewall it? that's pretty standard stuff for a pirate
Sigh, more Call of Duty hate.

This is where you are so wrong to the extent that I believe you didn't watch the gameplay trailers or read the wiki at fucking all.
Also, about it being the same since cod 4:
The core multiplayer gameplay has been likened to a spiritual combination of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but with several major additions:
Pulled right from the wiki. So if you think it looks like CoD 4/mw2, then that means it worked.
This is where you are so wrong to the extent that I believe you didn't watch the gameplay trailers or read the wiki at fucking all.
Why would you spend time reading a wiki about call of duty?
People enjoy Call of Duty singleplayer?
I enjoyed Black Ops sp....
Just saying guys
My friend said that we would get a copy of MW3 early if he paid this guy 100 bucks. When he got there, the guy gave him a piece of paper with the poster of MW3 on it. It was hilarious.
