This may surprise you guys, and you might want to be seated for this, but "crazy" isn't limited to povertous Southerners with off-center political ideologies.
Someone nearby accidentally discharged his gun, then realised how much shit he would be in if he got caught and decided to get the fuck out.
Edit: Things like this are bound to happen every once in a while because in USA everyone has a gun and carries it in his back pocket.
Yeah, my English professor makes us turn in our cell phones and assault rifles at the beginning of each class. Talk about old-fashioned, he needs to get with the times!

I bet you can't even pronounce it right.

Irresponsible parent of the year award goes to owner of the baby at 0:30.
Or maybe the little guy was trying to rush in and help take down the gunman, in which case heroic baby of the year award.
Death penalty for damaging the White House? Are you insane?
No I said for commiting treason in his attempt to kill the president.
Idiot, but the fact he damaged the white house shouldn't go unnoticed. It'd be like if you took a sledge hammer to the washington monument.
Seems like a nutjob or someone terribly incompetent. I mean, what kind of idiot would expect that the White House windows aren't bulletproof?
gun crimes are pretty bad in DC, chances are it was just a stray bullet and not some big huge assassination attempt
gun crimes are pretty bad in DC, chances are it was just a stray bullet and not some big huge assassination attempt
Crime has taken a total u-turn since DC allows almost anyone to carry a weapon legally. Criminals think twice about robbing somebody that could have a weapon.
Either way, it wasn't a "stray bullet." Read the article.

it doesn't say anywhere that it wasn't a stray bullet. What I'm reading sounds like typical gang violence it just happened to occur fairly close to the white house
Jesus Harold Christ what fuckwit tried this? Obama's limo is amazingly bullet/bomb proof, Even the underside is bombproofed. do they not think they'd bullet/bombproof the place he spends a lot of of his time, and is publically known as spending a lot of time?
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- An Idaho man accused of firing two shots at the White House last week has been charged with attempting to assassinate President Barack Obama or his staff.
Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, made his first court appearance before a federal magistrate in Pittsburgh on Thursday, one day after he was arrested at a western Pennsylvania hotel. He will be taken back from a federal court in Pittsburgh to face the charges in Washington, D.C.
Ortega will remain in federal custody at least until a magistrate in Washington can determine if he should remain jailed until his trial on the charge, which carries up to life in prison.
Ortega sat quietly as the hearing began, his hands free but his feet shackled. The 21-year-old said only, "Yes, ma'am" when he was asked if he understood that he would be going back to Washington to face the charge.
Authorities said a man clad in black who was obsessed with Obama pulled his car within view of the White House on Friday night and fired shots from an assault rifle, cracking a window of the first family's living quarters while the president was away.
Soon after, U.S. Park Police found an abandoned vehicle, with an assault rifle inside it, near a bridge leading out of the nation's capital to Virginia. The car led investigators to Ortega.
The FBI took custody of Ortega's car Thursday afternoon to continue the process of reviewing evidence, said Lindsay Godwin, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Washington field office.
Ortega was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a hotel near Indiana, Pa., about 55 miles east of Pittsburgh, after a desk clerk recognized his picture. He had been reported missing Oct. 31 by his family.
He really fucked up.

Yeah, I mean he shot at their living quarters, so of course he tried to kill him.

Nah, the bullets were clearly filled with hugs and love, he was just trying to spread his message of joy
so was he an very extreme Israeli?
Well apparently the guy believed was on a personal mission from God. But no one really knows if it has anything to do with the recent Israeli-American tensions, or if he hated him for other reasons.

He was just a nutjob.
It's about time someone tries killing that dumb shit we call president.
No. He's not perfect, but honestly it could be much, much worse. Even then supporting assassination is generally wrong.
Whoa
There's a reason they called Andrew Jackson "Old Hickory".

"Personal mission from God" sounds more "nutjobby" than anything else. Guy's sick in the head.
They should just call it an Avtomat Kalashnikov, sounds cooler.
How about a kalash? That's what they call 'em in Russia and it's easier to say.
Holy shit, the guy that did this served me at a restaurant, what a coincidence.
How about a kalash? That's what they call 'em in Russia and it's easier to say.
News outlets usually refrain from using slang, not that the average listener would know it anyway.
"Authorities are investigating the man's mental health and say there are indications he believed attacking the White House was part of a personal mission from God"
Oh boy, here we go again.
worlds worst assassin
"Personal mission from God" sounds more "nutjobby" than anything else. Guy's sick in the head.
This is proof that (whatever religion this guy is) is inherently violent. Why, the holy book of (whatever religion this guy is) tells people to kill (non-believers/gays/infidels)! It's obvious that we need to deport him and the rest of the (people who follow whatever religion this guy is) from the country as their religion teaches only violence.
