Teen killed after sticking head through party bus roof near George Washington Bridge

what the fuck? can we think logically here?
the kid was probably with his friends, probably just wanted to have fun, didn't give a fuck at the time, and made a stupid decision.
the decision was stupid. he, as a person, was not.
unless you fucking knew him your entire life, you cannot say or assume he was a stupid person. that's just disrespectful as fuck. we are talking about a dead person here.
Have you never done a stupid thing? Yes you have. And this stupid thing to do cost him his life. Does that make him dumber than you? No, it doesn't.
Personally, as someone who has done things even dumber than what this kid did, I agree that he's no dumber than any general dumbass.
However, as someone who has done stuff dumber than this, I do think it's fair that if the dumbass gets hurt or killed or otherwise makes the news due to his dumb actions then it's open season as far as pointing out his dumbassness or otherwise deriving humor at his expense.
Because he died does not make him untouchable as far as being mocked, he asked for it, he got it.
I came across a dumb "daredevil" kid a while ago when me and my father were driving through town and some kid riding a bike played chicken right front of us.
We stopped and told him about how he was a dumbass for doing something like that and could have gotten badly injured or even killed, but he smugly responded with"DON'T WORRY I'M INDESTESTRUCTIBLE!!!" before laughing with his friends and doing the same thing with some of the other cars behind us.
Maybe Darwin was right after all.
To be adolescent is to be passionate, driven, and directionless. Most males (and females) are psychologically immature up until they hit about 23-24 years old. It's biology.
Thank you.
And I'm sorry, if you think he's dumb because he ignored the security guard, that's seriously stupid. I speak from experience and plenty of observation when I say that people that age don't take security guards seriously. Obedience is a hard to come by trait in kids that age (and don't you dare say "well protoderp I listen to people who tell me not to do stuff!!!!" because I'm pretty sure there's at least one time when you directly disobeyed someone.)
Point being, it's very easy for someone to make a decision like this, especially when it's much less risky to stick your head out of the top of a vehicle than it is to stick it out of the side (though yes, it still is stupid.)
I'm just saying that it's a long shot to call this survival of the fittest - I'm pretty sure the kid didn't even expect there to be an overpass to scrape his face off. It was intentionally no more harmful than any other risky decision - this kid just had the poorest luck. I'd barter that the actual chance of this exact scenario happening would have been low (and there's not really a lot of information to go off of in the first place.)

And yes, this is true. He was foolish for disobeying the guard and he got punished for making a terrible decision. This should be an example for other people his age, because without people making an example of themselves, how would we learn?

I mean it's sad, and I would have been much happier to see the kid live, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking this couldn't have been avoided - I'm just trying to point out how easily things like this can happen.
Why do you not take my posts in the exact way I post them.
I didn't say people SHOULD die, there was no moral judgement in my statement. I said "You do stupid stuff, you die faster/have a better chance of dieing.

The sanity comes into play when you don't do stupid stuff just because your friends are around. I always hated this kind of group mentality.
16 is old. You are allowed to drive with 16 in many countires. Many people finish their first education with 16.
"Haha it's gonna be a cool party lets open the hatch of a doppeldeckerbus look guys how awesome I am for doing what I've been told not to do 3 times" is not cool or acceptable.

Why do you insist that having fun in a partybus somehow validates acting against safety measures? Is that your kind of fun? Should that be anyones kind of fun?
taking chances is a sign of high testosterone therefor female genitalia
This thread has confused me to the point where I can't tell what points I want to defend.

Stick your head out of the hatch, they said.
It'll be fun, they said.
