Man Who Saved Mouse from Being Eaten By Cat Catches Black Plague

Animals eat other animals everyday, it's dumb to try to save one.
What an idiot. You don't save a mouse from a cat. Cats eat mice, that's sort of why they exist in the first place, and that stray needs every mouse it can find. It doesn't have a regular food supply.
Does he deserve the plague for his idiocy? Nah, he's not that dumb. But he does need to be told why he shouldn't be saving mice from cats.
If the cat bats the mouse in your house, then you have a mess of blood to assess.
Have you ever actually watched a cat play with a mouse? They don't leave a mess of blood everywhere. They don't even leave a mess of blood when the cat eats one half and leaves you the other half!
don't ask me how but they manage to kill it, play with it for hours, and eat half of it, without leaving a drop of blood on the floor.
I can't believe I misread this as the man being bit by the mouse while saving the cat from the mouse.
It still made sense, somewhat.
I hope they can cure him in time.
and the cat fucking died too, poor thing
That's kind of ironic.
Or should I say, "bubonic". Ohohoho.
It's the circle of life, don't touch wild animals lol
Black Plague is still around? Jesus Christ.
Yes, but nobody gives a fuck because we have antibiotics and personal hygiene.
That's gonna be an awesome story for the guy once he recovers.
"Yeah, I had the bubonic plague. Saved a mouse, got infected with the same thing that killed a third of Europe."
Seriously, who do you know that's contracted the black plague?
You really shouldnt interfere with nature like that. Yes, you rescued a mouse, but you might have starved the cat. It's the same with nature fotographers who don't save the seal-baby from the fox or whatever. I kinda feel he deserved it.
no good deeds go unpunished.
Many animals eat other animals for nourishment, In my opinion the guy should have just let the cat eat its meal. Its just part of nature.
I thought the Black Plague was gone.
There's still outbreaks from time to time in some places of the world. But it's been generally stamped out in the western world and I believe al ot of the western population has a slight immunity. By generally being survivors of former outbreaks.
Life is going to suck when antibiotics stop working.
Can't you cure it in like three days with penicillin?
Rated 1500 years late.

I have quite a few times, my cats are vicious. One of my cats that's 1 year old found a mouse once that got in when a door was open, and when she ran around the house and dropped it on the floor after we chased her, it was bleeding and there was a bit of blood on the tiles.
Who the fuck saves a mouse from a cat?
John Coffey

The cat died
never save a pest! This is what happens when you try to save a pest
Fun fact: There was an outbreak of the Black Plague in San Fransisco in 1900 - 1909.
I read that as Moose, and wondered what the fuck kind of cat could take one down, scary thought.
Cant help but think of simon from american dad.
Still, thats really shitty luck. Im hoping that all is well in the end.
I thought the Black Plague was gone.
Hell no, it just disappeared from Europe for the past 400 years. Smallpox is gone because we found a reliable prevention measure, and everyone used it. The plague just turned up and killed people until it burned itself out and vanished.

speak for yourself
I'll be honest, I can't really feel bad for anyone that reaches their hand in a cats mouth and grabs a mouse

Its been around since the epidemic, people are just immune to it now by medicine and vaccines. It still kills alot of animals and is a major threat to some animal races.
Never get between a cat and it's food.
Good thing we live in an age where diseases like Black Plauge are easily curable and only pose a threat to you if you catch it and do nothing about it. I bet a good chunk of the population can't even get it actually. That's the real reason we don't see stuff like the black plaugue anymore - current medicine makes plagues very hard to actually spread. And modern santiary measures prevent 95% of disease anyways (i.e. washing hands, going to the bathroom in toilets and not on the street, proper waste disposal, etc).
The only thing that could ever cause a serious plauge in this generation would be something viral in nature that also can avoid getting stopped by your average immune system, and can also avoid vaccination. Such diseases are rare, but its possible. Even then, worst case scenario, you quarientine where its spreading and can prevent it getting everywhere.
Back in the middle ages, people were literally stupid fucks, and also completely ignorant of medicine, disease, etc. There were only a couple of cities that managed to avoid plauge in that time, and it was mostly due to the ruler of the city actually being smart, using logical reasoning, and realizing that the disease spreads through contact with others who have the disease. So they would build walls around the city and not let any carriers in.
I saved a mouse from being eaten by a cat in my garden. Chucked chocolate at the cat and it ran off.
Just be glad it didn't eat it, or it probably would have died (the chocolate that is.)
Chocolate is more toxic to cats than dogs due to cats being much smaller, it doesn't take as much for them to get very ill or die.
