There was literally a study posted here a few pages back showing that the availability of "artificial CP" (i.e. lolicon, shotacon) decreases child molestation and assault on a national level
Plus, most research and interviews with pedophiles express that pedophilia is a paraphilia that appears gradually during puberty. Banning the lolicon isn't going to stop it, and pedophiles are still going to be turned on and attracted to children regardless of the availability of drawn pornography.
It's no coincidence that people defending lolicon constantly walk in with research or statistics. The Western moral outrage against pedophilic tendencies has led to a situation where the line is blurred between what actually happens, and how molestation really appears. A sadistic, sociopathic, or otherwise morally-compromised individual is going to molest children - not the average guy who just so happens to have pedophilia.
Saying that every pedophile is prone to molestation trivializes the issue for everyone involved.
