The culture is EXTREMELY anti pedophilia in almost any case. Even suggest that anyone under 18 is good looking most place and you are blasted as a "hideous pedophile". All I say is that it shouldn't be illegal to look at pictures, however morally disturbing they may be. No it shouldn't be encouraged, but I don't see anyone encouraging it, just accepting it as freedom of speech.

Of course there would be an reactionary response to pedophiles - carrying it in reality is outright rape, because it's a huge power issue. All I'm saying is that there shouldn't be apathy towards the issue itself, and people seeking professional help, with standards being brought up to 21st century ones.

Just to separate the issues here:
A pedophile (within my view of the word) is someone attracted to a prepubescent child. My point is that If you are attracted to someone who has hit puberty, it is just nature. Socially and within our culture it is not a good thing for a 40 year old to fuck a 13 year old by any standard, and I don't advocate that, but it is not sexually deviant or wrong to be attracted to a teenager. You shouldn't act sexually on that attraction, but anyone male or female who says they don' t find good looking teenagers attractive sometimes is lying.

But there isn't apathy toward the issue. One side is a rational view of "It doesn't hurt anyone and studies show sexual child abuse is lower in countries which allow it", while the other side is emotional "I find it repulsive and to actually have sex with a child is extremely damaging both physically and emotionally." It's fine to object to the idea, and most people criticising the law don't support loli porn, but you can't ban things just because you find them distasteful. There is no one objective morallity and trying to enforce your morality on others is unfair and hypocritical.

A teenager is not fully mentally or sexually developed in any sense of the word; their body is still going through active development and this is a good reason why the age of consent is held up to be mandatory and followed. There is a lot of disparity between what people think of what's an proper age, but thumbing through any college textbook that's about human psychology and development will give you a plethora of the how's and why's behind something like this. This isn't far-fetched biotruth crap.

It's generally common practice to rate the article and not the poster in news, unless the poster has a very outspoken opinion underneath.

Lolicon should not be considerable as child pornography. It's a form of expression, and frankly a form of relief for people with said paraphilia. Lolicon is not linked with child molestation and is a benign way for pedophiles to vent out their sexual frustrations. There is no reason for France to have banned lolicon other than the reason "I don't like it" or "it's weird."
