the problem with this argument is its subjective the problem is you people have a really REALLY undesirable attitude towards it that literally makes me think the worst of you. Im not denying that im biased in this argument since I really dont want to see a guy touch little girls/boys, but that doesnt make my arguments invalid since the accepted laws dont just get overthrown because "lol i dont agree with this" otherwise the world would still be run by religious nuts.
But it's not subjective at all, there is factually nothing wrong about lolicon, so factually it shouldn't be illegal. You can say that with child porn, there is something factually wrong with it, and therefore it should be illegal, and any sane person would agree, but lolicon is hurting nobody at all, ever.
I also just realized this bans lolicon but not shotacon. You know what that means.
Lolicon now illegal in... Got scared for a minute there OP
I also just realized this bans lolicon but not shotacon. You know what that means.
Alot of sexually confused people?
t you people have a really REALLY undesirable attitude towards it that literally makes me think the worst of you.
Well shit, our lives are pretty much over now with this revelation. Whatever will we do now that we don't have your blessing!?
I don't think this is going to help too many people, will be near-impossible to enforce, and is thinking about things the wrong way. Murder is of course bad, as is child molestation, but you don't ban video games in which you can murder people because it is not real.
I agree, but we do regulate and provide warnings for video games as well I think something similar should happen here, with efforts put into campaigns that discourage these things and help pedophiles get the help they need instead of making drawings illegal. Banning these images seems silly, but we shouldn't be encouraging it as an outlet either
here comes a cancer metaphor you dont let the cancer grow, you lop it off when its small and deal with the little bits later. come on guys, breaking bad. yeah.
Okay then let's ban violent video games.
I also just realized this bans lolicon but not shotacon. You know what that means.
in the criminal code article, all representations of minors are banned. the news article just talks about lolicon.
things shouldn't be banned because people find them disgusting when they don't actually do any harm
no but it's disgusting!!!!! (the sum total of every argument in this thread supporting the ban)
well you consider stop posting for one. fact is, even with this very small group of very outspoken people the majority of people in government will brush it off since its almost directly related (it is, its underage girls but one is drawn one is real, its fucking related) to an actual incredibly illegal and disgusting crime. its not going to change [editline]28th August 2013[/editline] yes that was my point finally someone sees it! you have proven yourself a saint and scholar *tips fedora*
The two are no more or less related than reality and hentai.
Related =/= Same
well you consider stop posting for one. fact is, even with this very small group of very outspoken people the majority of people in government will brush it off since its almost directly related (it is, its underage girls but one is drawn one is real, its fucking related) to an actual incredibly illegal and disgusting crime. its not going to change
It will probably change if the amount of real CP and child molestations begins to increase now that the harmless alternative is no longer legal
fact is, even with this very small group of very outspoken people the majority of people in government will brush it off since its almost directly related (it is, its underage girls but one is drawn one is real, its fucking related) to an actual incredibly illegal and disgusting crime.
Yet there are many fictional depictions of even more horrible and disgusting crimes that aren't illegal, so why should lolicon be?
I also just realized this bans lolicon but not shotacon. You know what that means.
more cute trap porn?
then how are they different?
One is real and the other is completely fake. To reuse my last post, they're different in exactly the same way as hentai and reality are different.
then how are they different?
Because one is drawn and the other is real?
Poor Max :(
Yet there are many fictional depictions of even more horrible and disgusting crimes that aren't illegal, so why should lolicon be?
murder is illegal and disgusting therefore depictions of murder should be illegal and disgusting ban all depictions of crimes
Poor Max :(
Max is into bestiality, not lolicon.
Hatred of abnormal sexuality is deeply ingrained in western society, the only thing that's changing is what is considered abnormal. People like to pretend they're progressive because they're fine with homosexuality, but they're just as prejudiced against other orientations as those they call bigots.
Comparing homosexuality to pedophilia is incredibly insulting; it's actually used as an argument against homosexuality (hence why you hear idiot politicians rambling on about how legalizing gay marriage will lead to more rapes of little boys). There's a HUGE difference between sexual orientation and sexual paraphilia. The two are completely unrelated. As usual Facepunch agrees with these backwards applications of random buzzwords.
here comes a cancer metaphor you dont let the cancer grow, you lop it off when its small and deal with the little bits later. come on guys, breaking bad. yeah.
You are implying that lolicon creates pedophiles, which I truly doubt, and as far as I know, there isn't any evidence of that. The moment there's evidence however, I'll agree with you completely. But if you're wrong, lolicon is, however strange it sounds, protecting children from actually getting abused, since pedophiles have an outlet.
here comes a cancer metaphor you dont let the cancer grow, you lop it off when its small and deal with the little bits later. come on guys, breaking bad. yeah.
Lolicon isn't the cancer. A lack of proper psychological support for pedophiles, mixed with a moral outrage which suggests any pedophile is a child molester, is one of the reasons why pedophiles are ostracized and lack the support system to continue functioning within society. If you want to end child molestation, we need to start by stopping this "moral outrage" bullshit and empirically separate the molesters from those with a paraphilia. That means we also need to do scientific research as to why some pedophiles might become molesters, and why non-pedophiles also molest children.
except hentai is legal and loli is not
And we're arguing right now as to why that shouldn't be the case.
except hentai is legal and loli is not so someone found a difference and that difference is fucking children
I mean that the differences between lolicon and child porn are the same as the differences between hentai and normal porn. Which is to say extensive, and that people who are interested in lolicon are most often not interested in real children.
well you consider stop posting for one. fact is, even with this very small group of very outspoken people the majority of people in government will brush it off since its almost directly related (it is, its underage girls but one is drawn one is real, its fucking related) to an actual incredibly illegal and disgusting crime. its not going to change [editline]28th August 2013[/editline] yes that was my point finally someone sees it! you have proven yourself a saint and scholar *tips fedora*
your argument is shit and you know it is shit sure it's not going to change, because its utterly unenforceable congratulations, for all of your discussion of how lolicon is disgusting, people will still look at it and the world will keep spinning the law has done nothing, and for the rest of the world that understands the difference between depictions and reality, it will remain legal
so someone found a difference and that difference is fucking children
That don't exist. THE HORROR!
I agree, but we do regulate and provide warnings for video games as well I think something similar should happen here, with efforts put into campaigns that discourage these things and help pedophiles get the help they need instead of making drawings illegal. Banning these images seems silly, but we shouldn't be encouraging it as an outlet either
I feel pretty certain this kind of material (when it's even sold in stores) is branded 'for adults only' or something similar. That's the same sort of rating as the very highest video game classification, so I don't really see the issue.
Actual pedophiles who were using the legal drawn stuff to satisfy their urges are probably just going to go after real CP now, since the charges are the same. This means more demand for real CP, which means more will be made, which means more harm to children. Nice one, France.
except hentai is legal and loli is not so someone found a difference and that difference is fucking children
What about guro, necrophilia, rape, bestiality hentai? Why didn't they also make it illegal, if they know about the existence of this types of Japanese drawn porn, they should also have knowledge about such things?
I feel pretty certain this kind of material (when it's even sold in stores) is branded 'for adults only' or something similar. That's the same sort of rating as the very highest video game classification, so I don't really see the issue.
Like any other kind of porn, it's illegal (in the US at least, no idea about elsewhere in the world) to have it posted on a site or sold in a store without an 18+ warning or age gate to make sure that they're legal to view it, exactly.
