How extensive is this ban? Is it just pictures and videos of lolis getting penetrated or are they not allowed to watch Ro Kyu Bu anymore?

I'm positive if you were to research those statistics further, too, you would find that sexual assault of a minor from pedophiles went down, whereas sexual assault of a minor from non-pedophiles stayed the same.
Or, in other news, we still have a problem with dealing with child abusers who aren't even attracted to the people they manipulate and hurt. Yet our society wants to blame 100% of cases on sexual deviance, which is counter-productive.

Legal child porn, what?
Then what about porn about rape? Even if it's acted, or drawn, or otherwise fake, do you believe this influences people to rape? I somehow doubt that your friend was convinced to molest his sister because he was jacking off to lolicon.
I don't know man, after watching Serbian Film I raped at least five people and killed 2
I sort of understand why they would make distributing lolicon illegal (on the hypothesis that it could make some people become pedophiles), but the fact that people can be jailed for owning pictures they drew themselves is complete madness. And it makes no sense. If lolicon owners were all potential child molesters then I don't see how a fine or a couple of years in jail would solve anything.
Pedophilia isn't an orientation, though! Heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality etc. is about consenting relationships between people who can, well, consent. Children can't consent to sex with adults, they're not mature enough to handle it, both physically and mentally. Not to mention the power imbalance that comes with such a great age difference.
I am not, have never and will never advocate sex with children.
I am not, have never and will never advocate demonising someone because of an aspect of themselves they have no control over; in this case, their attraction to children.
People should learn to divorce attraction and sex. One does not always lead to the other.
I don't necessarily mean ratings, I'm just saying that we don't just allow and encourage violent video games to be freely available for everyone - we understand it can have some impact. I don't think lolicon should be made illegal, since a law like this would be next to impossible to define reasonably, but I think it should be discouraged and treated as a potential sign that someone should be given help. I think public awareness should be the focus instead of banning this sort of thing.
i'm with you. if we continue treating pedophiles like we do now suicide rates won't get any better, and they won't get any help. illegalizing something that can -potentially- lower rates of pushing actual rings forward won't solve anything but make those pedophiles go all out.
shaming never solved anything. effective discouragement is what we really need in this situation

on the other side of my opinion, i don't think any fictional media should be illegal, flat out. artistic limitation through law scares me a little
Fixed the link.
Law applies for drawing of -15 years old.
will the police need to hire a specialist to determine the age of a cartoon porn character?
no healthy human being should be pleasuring themselves to images of animals, or little girls - fictional/drawn or not
as far as I'm concerned that's the end of the discussion
With the vast amount of information we have, that's a absurd assertion to make. People aren't masochists who enjoy being unaccepted by others, it's expected for them to reach like-minded prople.

That's precisely the main reason I don't like laws like this. When I'm on Google I don't offload the task of determining what images I might consider "inappropriate" to SafeSearch, I wouldn't want any third party determining what I can't and cannot see for no good reason.

She's not 11... she's an 800 year old vampire.
Shit's gross and needs to be illegalized in every country, end of story.
Why? Why are people acting as if Lolicon's just as bad as CP? I don't personally use it at all, but why should it be banned from every country just because you find it a bit weird? You could pretty much ban everything with this stupid mindset. It doesn't harm anyone like CP does, it curbs pedophiles/hebephiles away from using CP and it probably curbs them away from any real encounters with young children too because fetishizing a completely unrealistic thing that could never be pursued in real life like an illustration would make pedophiles less likely to pursue real children.
I don't get why everyone thinks it's so harmful, people need to realise that as soon as lolicon is taken away from pedophiles they will instantly create demand for CP.
Think of an insane trigger happy guy who loves guns and the idea of firing a gun - an airsoft and a real gun is pretty much all the same to him, so which one would you rather give him? The pretty much harmless one or the lethal one? In this analogy banning lolicon is the same as taking away the airsoft, he'll just go straight for the real one if he wants it, because he prefers that.
Think of all the imaginary children getting hurt. Fuckers need to be locked away :v:
ok now you're comparing pedophillia to homosexuality - on either side of the argument that's absolutely vile
All you've ever done in this thread is complain about how "vile", "disturbing", and "disgusting" everything that has to do with pedophilia is.
How about you come up with an actual fucking argument instead of just going "But it's gross! :("
people need to realise that as soon as lolicon is taken away from pedophiles they will instantly create demand for CP.
CP is already illegal. They would probably just continue with their lolicon. Not all people into that are pedophiles.
Lolicon itself is harmless so banning it would just be throwing people in prison for nothing.
Isn't France in the process of privatizing its prisons?
I find it gross, but the reasoning behind this is retarded, they could ban any fiction that is illegal in the real life with this. What if the art is a bunch of pixels like pixel-art? How do you even tell the age of a drawing? Where do they draw the line?
Where do they draw the line?
But lolicon is nothing but drawn lines :v:
who cares if some weirdo whacks it to loli
like what are they doing to you, you know?

Sure, for the people who aren't pedophiles and are only into loli, they'll carry on using loli.
But for the pedophiles only using Loli as a restraint tactic to avoid the use of CP, chasing it when it's illegal becomes redundant, as it's effectively just as bad as regular CP.
Thus, CP gets used.
And, kinda like AJisAwesome15 said, just because someone is into something you're not doesn't make them a monster. You said yourself that not all people into Loli are pedos, so the ban is also effectively reducing the freedoms of regular people too. It's not up to us what people are up to in their free time unless it's harming themselves or other people. Banning Loli is a straight violation of this idea. So, yeah, it would be imprisoning people for nothing.
let me clear up definitions
Loli = the thing that was banned (little girls, etc)
Lolicon = someone who obsesses over them (pedo, weeb, otaku, etc whatever)
will the police need to hire a specialist to determine the age of a cartoon porn character?
And suddenly all the lolicons have jobs and the entire world is a happier place
If it stops real Kiddy Diddlers. I feel it shouldn't be banned.
but they're 1000 year old demons, totally not under age
i actually wonder if they can get away with it like that.
edit:
could france lolicon people get away with it by claiming they have that rare disease that doesn't make your body age properly?
i actually wonder if they can get away with it like that.
my brother watches some anime thing where the girls are like 2 ft tall but they're like in high school or college or whatever so yeah
okay just found out it's called lucky star
i actually wonder if they can get away with it like that.
It all depends on how the law is interpreted. This is one of the reasons laws like this is bollocks; in a democracy the law needs to be perfectly clear on in advance what does and what doesn't constitute a crime.
my brother watches some anime thing where the girls are like 2 ft tall but they're like in high school or college or whatever so yeah
anime laws of aging are hilarious

Well obviously they aren't 2 ft tall, it's just that everything else is taller than normal.
