that cat is hilarious
Oh god the logo
It's like they got the lion off of google images and put a circle around it
Why couldn't they just used cougar?
I'm a big fat idiot. Please rate me dumbs
I think they are using Mountain Lion to show that it's a more of an incremental update to the last OS
i.e after Leopard they did Snow Leopard which was basically just a faster version of Leopard
Now after Lion they are doing Mountain Lion
Please be better than Lion. There is a reason most people didn't update.
What was wrong with it?
I always thought Mission Control looked like clusterfuck central, was I right?
apples gaming market aka buying temple run gold
What would happen if apple sued valve?
Why would they do this?
You could ask the same question as to why they sued several other companies
Fuck it I am waiting till Liger
ok so they toss in some apps and call it an os upgrade wtf.
oh and they ripped off growl too
Growl sucked as soon as they updated to the crappy version for the App Store (though you do not need to use it).
Notification Center comes from iOS5, which came from the iOS Jailbreak community, which came from Android.

So the tech industry is a clusterfuck of copying people
But windows8 runs on ARM. x86 will come only when we develop better batteries.
Not really true, while windows 8 now does have ARM support I wouldn't wanna use it - it's essentially like switching to a less fully featured OS like mac, nothing is made for it - as of right now there's no cross compatibility with x86 and ARM windows 8 and supposedly there's no plans for it.
Also
it's x86, it's going to have an ivy bridge in it (which is supposed to have less than 50% of the power consumption of the latest sandy bridge). While batteries improve, x86 can also try to reduce its power consumption and intel definitely seem to be doing this.
Just came across this. http://www.neowin.net/news/mountain-lion-incompatible-with-older-macs

This is my main issue with Apple, they are so quick to drop older hardware.
I mean I can go find some pile of shit and install Windows 7 on it, it will run terribly but whatever.
I can upgrade pretty much any Android phone (including the G1) to the latest version of Android and it will run. Both of those things aren't possible within the apple ecosystem which to me seems really bad.

Because they made no money on software, so they charge a buttload for underpowered hardware.

There's two huge fundamental flaws with the device you showed.
1) Razer = overpriced
2) It's crap and plays most games over onlive
I mean just look at that thing, not only are the controllers two PS moves, they're not removable which makes it look like some weird steering wheel
I still don't see the point in ARM Windows 8 tablets. Maybe for the first 2 years of Windows 8's life, but realize Intel and AMD are being quite aggressive in trying to shove x86 tablets down people's throats.

If you can get ~8 hours out of a laptop, you can do the same with a tablet, its not a problem of battery life. X86 simply will prevail.

They are really good at updating their older phones on time and for at least 3 years.
I expect to get to iOS 7 on my 4S, just like the 3GS went from iOS 3 to 5.
But that's phones, so it's different .

The support for their "older" phones is fucking atrocious. Just because they get the OS doesn't mean it actually works. The iPhone 2G received iOS 3, it was god awful. The iPhone 3G received up to iOS4, the phone becomes near unusable when updated to it after a while. The iPhone 3GS received iOS5, it;s plagued with bugs, missing features that actually do work on the phone, and ruins performance.
That is not "really good". It's just to encourage upgrades by degrading phone quality.

Intel even release an Android phone using x86. And AMD is working damn hard on their APU.
x86 will simply force its way into tablets and phones, while ARM tablets will go into legacy, like how PowerPC Macs are.

They had better start making phones with UEFI/BIOS and generic drivers. It would be pretty cool to start running applications seamlessly between platforms.

It's so much more than just a gaming device.

A facebook machine?
A facebook machine?
not just facebook machine

a 6770M sure is gaming grade

I have and I agree with him, do I win?
a 6770M sure is gaming grade
I can play tf2 on it, that's gaming grade enough for me.
OH WAIT mouse sensitivity/response is shit on OS X, so I have to boot into Windows.
a 6770M sure is gaming grade
Yep, because every mac comes with the same graphic card.

Wait why? Maybe you have a setting wrong?
I have and I agree with him, do I win?
I can play video games such as CoD4, Valve's games and Killing Floor on them. So surely they must be capable of gaming as that's more than enough for me.
So to answer your question. No.
I can play most games on my macbook, with a very reasonable battery life too.
All computers can do mostly the same things nowadays, the difference being how much more you want to pay for a computer that is durable and has very high quality hardware (the screen is vibrant, the speakers are great, the touchpad is the best I have ever used, etc).
