What, wouldn't there be at least a bone from the skeleton to prevent the impact from reaching key organs? I mean there couldn't be heart problems. Plus didn't something similar happen to a boy but died slower?
Wrong, or at least I think so. I'm pretty sure hard impacts on the chest area can cause cardiac dysrhythmia which can kill you.
She probably had an underlying problem they didnt know about that was set off when she was hit (Maybe a heart problem?)
Given enough force, anyone can keel over after being struck in the chest. And being a child, her body i not yet capable of enduring a full force hit.
Given enough force, anyone can keel over after being struck in the chest. And being a child, her body i not yet capable of enduring a full force hit.
And make no mistake, rugby balls can pack quite a punch (besides being annoying as fuck to grab while bouncing).
Damn, I got hit in the nose by a cricket ball at school, funny thing was the head teacher was crapping himself incased I sued.
a girl being hit by a ball and dying later, thats just unbelievable. it proves how vulnerable the human body is
No, this proves how vulnerable HER body is. The human body can take great amounts of punishment. I'm sure that throughout our years of school we've all been hit by objects flying around in PE at least a hundred times and we're fine. This is not an everyday case.
The person who threw the ball must feel so guilty
He's going to grow up to be one hell of an athlete.
quoted the wrong person so fuck it
I don't get why some people in this thread act all overzealous about this. "Oh, no! A kid got killed in PE, maybe we should ban it!" I doubt it was the class, it was probably because some of the students were playing rough. I nearly got hit by a bunch of guys playing rough on the basketball court in my sophomore year and one of the dudes playing ending up slamming into one of the padded walls, so the school nor the teacher are at fault for this.
Holy crap, basildon isn't far from me. Also sudden impacts can trigger lethal reactions. My neighbor's son was working when he got hit in the chest by a metal bar, turns out he had a genetic heart defect and died. He was about 21.
This is why I'm afraid of doing sports. Then again with the previous article of that 10 year old girl dieing from a punch we must be feeding kids something wrong to make them weak, or humans are just pathetically weak naturally.
I'm sorry but I laughed my ass off so hard at this Uh anyways, that most of really sucked, I cant imagine being the parent
Wrong, or at least I think so. I'm pretty sure hard impacts on the chest area can cause cardiac dysrhythmia which can kill you.
Yep, people have died even after wearing chest protection. If you hit it at just the right time you can make the heart go nuts.
There's also this thing going around on facebook (as this happened in Essex (Where I live)) where some girl from the school said "I hope she dies so we get a day off" You guys should see her facebook wall, seriously.
They are very immature. Sadly we have people like that.
