The entire premise of Surgeon Simulator is playing (and failing) at surgery with no consequences. When you inject a real person into the scenario it's stops being funny.
it seems kinda hypocritical to say games where you beat up people are bad but this is okay personally I think they're both ok
The issue here isn't making fun of a presidential candidate by putting him in a game. The issue is depicting a living person unconscious and completely powerless and giving the player the tools to brutally murder said person on whim. Especially with a person as controversial and hated as Trump it just comes of as a sick power fantasy.
That's so fucked up
Chill the fuck out, it's just Surgeon Simulator. How can you take it that seriously.

This is like saying that NBA 2K16 is a morally bankrupt game because it lets you intentionally injure the players, who are all real people. That's not the goal or design of the game. Almost everyone on this forum thought Manuel Noriega was an idiot for filing a lawsuit for the use of his likeness in a Call of Duty game. That fell through - and that wasn't even satire. That was actually portraying the guy in a negative manner. Truthfully, but he was portrayed negatively. This is a Trump skin with Trump jokes. That's it. There's no negative portrayal going on. It's also satire, which is protected under law.

The physics are too comical to be taken seriously, and the only indication you may be screwing up is a counter showing the patient's remaining vitality that ticks down until zero, where you get a 'game over' screen. For all the reaction a patient on the operating table ever shows, they may as well be made of rubber or wax. It's not really a simulator at all, the name is a tongue in cheek joke. So no, your definition doesn't apply.
I'm not exactly Trump fan #1 here, but it is pretty uncomfortable. It seems like a desperate attempt by the devs to remain relevant.
I am legitimately baffled how you people can have such strong opinion about this what the fuck
they're just scared of admitting they're trump supporters :v:
I like the part where they throw Trump Tower at his face, the gold heart is also priceless.
When you inject a real person into the scenario it's stops being funny.
"Trump has a heart of gold, or at least he's supposed to, time to give him what he truly deserves!" Why are people exactly so disturbed by this? It's Surgeon Simulator ffs, a comical game even. Not some game where your power fantasy of wanting to murder Trump comes into reality, it's not the BRITISH developer's intention here. That's like saying GTA powers people's fantasy of wanting to murder prostitutes, do drugs and join gangs

I've shared my thoughts on this. It's not illegal as far as I know (it shouldn't be). I'm sure the developers will succeed in cashing in on the controversy, though. I still think is in poor taste and I hope it reflects poorly on them and their careers.
This is very creepy and in poor taste
I know right? He just died 3 days ago! Oh wait. No he didn't. You're just being dramatic as fuck over nothing. I mean I'm sure I'd take major offence to seeing myself being operated on in a joke game, yup.
I really hope one of the objects you can find in the environment is a red Great Again cap.
I honestly don't get the fuss about this. Even if they would've made some fictional (but very similar) character to parody Trump, what change would have it made? Why bother hiding something when it's gonna be an obvious joke. Only bad thing about this is the legal aspect, but I doubt things will get too bad for the devs.
I'm more offended by Trump's rhetoric than this. Besides, it's not as if they're pushing a purely negative message: you can give Trump a literal heart of gold and save his life.
Really can't see how this is poor taste when you consider how much a character Donald Trump is. People like Trump and the Kim Jongs have create such outward perceptions of themselves from their antics and what over the top things they say that it's easy to make jokes and parodies of them. Stuff like the overly American setting, mullet joke, and whole heart thing work because we know how those relate to him and what he's done. With Trump he's pretty much become living cartoon so stuff like this works, but if you put some random politician or Bernie in there they'd seem too human and then it would feel tasteless. [sp]I mean c'mon he's a living meme[/sp]

What's with being so dramatic about it?
to the people complaining, have you ever played surgeon simulator like what the heck is there to be offended over? it's all in good fun.
This just seems like a really high budget version of those "beat up [name of celebrity]" flash games.
This just seems like a really high budget version of those "beat up [name of celebrity]" flash games.
except killing trump is in fact, not the goal here
Yeah I'm pretty sure the goal is to make Trump great again.
Hippocratic Oath versus the Hypocritical Oaf

I can see how it could be seen as tasteless but also get over it
Seems kind of weird. Like, just insert your family member or friend into this scenario. I wouldn't want a ton of people laughing and joking as they smash their ribs apart for fun. Once video game violence is directly at a specific real life person it becomes more than just hurting a nameless character, especially when it's as graphic as this.

Also graphic? are you shitting me? This game is irony itself, because it's not a real Surgeon Simulator, and the physics/graphics/design are simply not build to be an actual one. Unless your kind of Surgeon Simulator has a wobbly hand and a literal heart of gold alongside a stone one to operate.
So many butthurt people in this thread and the comments its ridiculous. I would still think its funny if they put Bernie (who I support) or Clinton in this spot.
