They're still using Huey's? :v:
So are we,
This is the twenty first century. We use missiles these days, and ships aren't armoured. Guns are very much secondary or defensive weapons that are mostly used for threatening and boarding unarmed ships. Here's the Russian navy disabling and boarding a trawler with their guns after telling them to stop. [editline]29th September 2011[/editline]
Yeah sure you yanks can kill a conventional army, but the Iran has experienced soldiers and Relatively modern technology which could go to ground, and we all know how much you suck and Guerrilla warfare.
Y'see here is the thing about Guerrilla warfare: It only works if you aren't legitimately at war. If Iran's military attacked the US, there would be a formal declaration of war. Hiding in civilian populations doesn't matter in that case. In fact, it is preferable, because civilian targets are really squishy and vulnerable to air dropped munitions. You can hide with the civilians all day. They are going to die too. That is what war IS. That is why a formal declaration is so rare and why nobody in their right mind would poke the US with the war stick.
Iran better not start any shit. This really is kind of worrying.
we can't have a BBQ, they cant eat pork.
Then don't cook pork. Pork is not healthy anyways. Beef is juicier and Chicken is much cheaper
they're on a boat hippie
You're immature.
Yeah but do you see any missile launchers? VLS systems tend to have pretty distinct slots on the deck.
I'm pretty sure it does have missile launchers.
and why nobody in their right mind would poke the US with the war stick.
Same goes for every modern nation in the world.
Iran better not start any shit. This really is kind of worrying.
Silly paranoid Americans

Good going. Edit: Also guerilla tactics in real war are based on the speculation that the enemy doesn't have the resources or psychopatic attitude to bomb every square kilometer of the warzone.

Anyone remember when Iran intercepted the US Navy in like, little ass boats? Quick, what should I say to sound professional? Um... US Navy, What is your current heading and speed? The ship is 200 yards away, just look at it you fucking idiot.

You aren't even specifically killing civilians. You bomb industry and production centers. For all the drama surrounding war, it is basically a race to crush the other country economically. It simply does so in a hands on approach. Hard to have an economy if all of your production centers, power production and hospitals are destroyed. At that point you can sit in your little hole all you want. The bombs are going to keep falling and the opposing side is going to slowly work their way down a list of targets. Starting with the most important and moving down. At the end of the day you either surrender, or are in such political and economic disarray, that you are no longer a threat. This is just the mechanics of how war works. This is basically how every war has functioned since the dawn of mankind. This is why attacking civilians directly with your military is such a terrible idea, it spawns a proper war and will result in massive numbers of deaths.
looks like normal international water identification..
Yep, looks like international waters to me, just look at the color!
A metered response is not really in the cards when it comes to attacks directly against the US. Some idiots stole some planes and flew them into our buildings. They weren't connected to any particular nation. ONE conflict wasn't enough of a response to that. We had to start TWO. WWII was the last time we saw a legitimate attack on US soil. We sank the majority of their navy and then nuked them twice for it. They still can't have a proper military. We are an angry population with an extremely oversized military and a growing hatred of the middle east and Iran in particular. A direct attack on the US would be like blowing up the hoover dam. Bad, BAD, things would happen. I think Iran has the potential to be a good ally in a number of years provided their government becomes more sane, but all of that is a moot point if a direct attack happens because massive scale conflict becomes unavoidable at that point.
All of this. It doesn't help that a large, vocal amount of Americans believe that the entire middle east is inherently evil. The second they try anything, Tehran becomes the primary target of the US military- and few will speak out against it. Doubt it'll come to that at all, though. They'll sit around off the coast of a city for a bit, get the shit annoyed out of them when somebody starts blasting "Born in the USA" over every frequency they're monitoring and hightail it back home.
