Just because you don't hear white people distinguish each other that way doesn't mean other races aren't doing it. I'm in Canada and I have heard many things said about white people that would have you run over by a bus in America. Racism is a two-way street, and normalizing your own characteristics is a very human thing to do. It takes time and effort (or good parenting) to break that habit.

I heard someone say something racist about white people so its okay for me to say something racist about black people

When is it racist? does it insight racial hate? a guy on my football team, his nickname was chocolate thunder, he had no issues.
People start barking about racism when they hear anything. Is anyone genuinly offended?

Obviously white people don't do it but the number of black guys who I have heard use the phrase 'white-boy' or 'cracker-ass honkey' is pretty high.
