Well then, enjoy your life.
I intend to.
When you're done choking on your ficticious job let me know.
You can't ban the interwebz... FOOLS!
You can keep people from connecting to it, which would work if...it worked.

A quick diagram of what will happen. (Yes it's shit)
I don't know if this law is good or bad. All I know is that I have a gut feeling that a much more efficient law could probably have been used, and that somehow this one will end badly.
Killing piracy won't save me money? I'm in the film industry. I'm a Gaffer. Pirates are the reason I only recieved half the money I was owed for 6 months of work.
So yeah, all you're doing is proving my point. Try all you like, there is simply no way to justify e-piracy, and the only reason anyone would be against this new policy is if they're too fucking lazy to go out, get a job, and learn to PAY for games, music and movies.
TIP: Stop working on shitty movies, All sorts of media, games, movies, are breaking sales records at the moment, there is no lack of money in the business, except for the maggots who decide to cash in by making tripe. Nobody wants to buy tripe. If they're offered tripe for free they'll try it, but they won't buy it.
The way to solve the (admittedly rampant) piracy issue is to simply start making worthwhile, quality content. As we saw with the GTA series. The Halo series. The Half Life series. It works.
Also <3 French people, don't listen to their bashing! ;_;
The thing with piracy is that if you can pirate it you will. If you can't pirate it then you just will not buy it. Thus people who pirate stuff really makes no difference in profit.

And yet suprisingly accurate.
you wouldn't steal music from a brick and mortar music store, would you
why do you expect to get off scott-free if you pirate things over the internet
If it's any consolation Jimesu, if this plan of action actually works, you can laugh at these people in the future when other countries undoubtedly follow suit.
Shit.
When could France do that?
This is really stupid.
They could just use their neighbor's wifi, or a cyber cafe.

It's not an actual physical copy, you don't take away possible cash from the store the moment you steal it.
Physical = Store looses cash and income because they must re-order the media.
Virtual = Store looses potential income.
Pirating stuff on the internet is not the same as stealing physical things, though I don't do either.
Last week I actually paid for my first CD ever, The Offspring's new album.
The experience was very disappointing. Finding the CD then discovering it doesn't come in a plastic case, trying to find a plastic version, standing in line while some asshat bought a 32" LCD TV with $20 bills, dealing with the douche of a cashier, having to rip off the plastic, then not being able to switch between albums with one hand when I got bored, fumbling through CD cases while switching gears...
The whole thing is just a waste of my time, money, and most importantly gas.
The French are overzealous pigs. But they make lovely wines and cheeses.
They are just trying to stop freedom of speech.

That may be true in Hollywood, but I'm Australian. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the Australian Film Industry BUT tripe, and the reason for this is piracy. How is the AFI supposed to make decent films if it makes no money to put into them?
Anyway, I'll stop arguing now, it's disappointing to see I'm the only one here who sees the problem with piracy, but whatever.
Also, yes, I really AM a Gaffer. There is nothing ficticious about it.
most french don't even know how to talk english properly
Wow that's ironic.
They are just trying to stop freedom of speech.
Next thing you know, all the non-white Christian French will be rounded up into labour camps by the French military.

Wilfred Mott: Labour camps... That's what they called them last time. It's happening again. *sobs* It's starting all over again!
(Fascism, in case you don't get it)
I just love how you guys are seizing the occasion to gratuitously bash us Frenchies for reasons that are utterly irrelevant to the matter.
Just like Brits talking about Americans.

Here here :D I get along fairly well with the French from expericne despite the fact that I am English (and they're supposed to hate us right?).
As for piracy, I know it's wrong and and there is no real excuse but most people will go for a free option of anything if it's available. That's just the way it is.

no, YOU hate us :(
also I don't want people from france to come to Québec, NO WAY!

Hmm...
You know, I actually do expect to get away with stealing something from a physical store, so why would I make an exception for stealing something that isn't even tangible?
Oh well, this just means all the French geeks will move to Quebec.
But then they'll realize that the driving is shit, so they'll leave.
Oh my god no we (quebec ) don't want to have more french (from france ) . there is enought minority now .
no, YOU hate us :(

Really? We're the ones who hate you? I kind of thought it was both ways, well, I love you guys  :D
What is it with you and the "need" for a lawless zone?
http://flyinghamster.com/post/61264
And there was a thread earlier today talking about the US wanting to police the internet. How ironic.
3 times and you're out... Hell with the very minor chance that you'll be caught even once, why did they even bother? Don't they have real issues to work on?
Yes. They should work on their bleedin' near-fascist attitude, swing a bit to the right wing, where socialism lies.
Great, if they do this in the US then that means a lot of people will be banned because of MOTHERFUCKING SECU-ROM AND EA!!!!
:downs:
