Melania Trump: Ending cyberbullying would be focus as first lady

How can she tackle cyber bullying when Donald J Trump is THE cyber bully?
Isn't that hypocrisy
Good luck. What kind of measures could even be taken against cyberbullying?
Stopping it or even putting a dent in it is an unrealistic goal.
Sure you can. Get websites to implement policies to fight and prevent it, and train police to deal with serious occasions like they would with real life bullying.
how the do you end cyberbullying when trump is your husband and president
Political spouses can have differing opinions and even opposing policy viewpoints. It's not entirely unheard of.
I hope Hillary wins and gets arrested so we won't have to deal with either of them personally.
would that be the shortest presidency in the history of the US?
would that be the shortest presidency in the history of the US?
Depends how long it takes. record iirc was 42 days
Political spouses can have differing opinions and even opposing policy viewpoints. It's not entirely unheard of.
It's like if Laura bush pushed reading when George was illiterate
It can't be taken seriously because she's literally an enabler of the worst most public bully there is
would that be the shortest presidency in the history of the US?
Depends on exactly how quickly that all went down. William Henry Harrison was the ninth president and held office for 31 days before dying of pneumonia.
But then all of their supporters would get arrested
so what, shes going to take away trump's twitter account then?
Political spouses can have differing opinions and even opposing policy viewpoints. It's not entirely unheard of.
well, it's certainly contradictory when her husband is actively using social media to insult and she hasn't done anything about it
But then all of their supporters would get arrested
I'm sure there's plenty of 80+ y/o republicans who hardly know how to make a phone call, let alone create any sort of social media account.
i dont see the problem with what she's said if that's what you're implying
"lets clean up online speech!" ya doesnt strike you a bit ominous when her husband doesnt really believe in free press either
"It is never OK when a 12-year-old girl or boy is mocked, bullied or attacked. It is terrible when it happens on the playground, and it is absolutely unacceptable when it is done by someone with no name hiding on the internet. We have to find a better way to talk to each other," Melania Trump said.
Excuse me? I'll take online name calling over physical abuse any day . At least one of those you can block and ignore.
I'm sure there's plenty of 80+ y/o republicans who hardly know how to make a phone call, let alone create any sort of social media account.
When I think of Trump supporters, I think of someone who goes on /pol/
well, it's certainly contradictory when her husband is actively using social media to insult and she hasn't done anything about it
How much can you stop "cyber bullying" if you don't stop Trump from pushing women, journalists, minorities, the Khan family, and whoever else he personally reviles at that given moment around?
I mean seriously.
If Trump is president, and he's a giant bully still, then how can anyone in the country ever actually seriously consider her actions to be of value? The example is still there, the proof is in the pudding and being a bully works. The country, and the populace will see it. People like Chonch can argue till their blue in the face that's not the case, but it is absolutely the case.
The president is a role model for the nation. If the president is a bully, then bullying is an admirable trait, and fuck, he bullied himself to power so clearly it works. The nation doesn't need that.
The world doesn't need that
Political spouses can have differing opinions and even opposing policy viewpoints. It's not entirely unheard of.
This isn't an opposing opinion, it's an opposing action. If you're trying to stop something, and your spouse is actively doing that something, then that's a fucking huge elephant in the room that needs to be addressed. I don't expect spouses to have the same viewpoints as others, but it's like if Ronald Reagan frequented strip clubs, and Nancy Reagan's main goal is to prevent the exploitation of women in strip clubs.
What a waste of time lol. Just another feel good social measure that will change nothing

Shortest claim I know of would be David Rice Atchison, who was technically acting president for a day when James Polk's term ended on a Sunday. The president elect, Zachary Taylor, refused to be sworn in on the sabbath, and demanded to be sworn in on the next day, making Atchison acting president for somewhere around one day. According to him, he slept through most of it.
This begins the war on shitposting
this smells of the same type of stuff trump wants to do against media outlets. considering he sued bill maher for a joke, and the onion for a satire article, he wants to make sure that he can sue them and 'have a good chance of winning' so this may be the same sort of safe space crap, where she wants people to be able to go at others for minor offenses and win. I mean, I feel that something needs to be done about it, especially at a school level, but not from someone who seems to not care about all the nasty things that her husband has said, like making fun of a crippled man.
Sounds like a great and genuine idea. They should take the opportunity to partner with Crash Override Network.
Honestly I'd prefer a candidate who isn't afraid to avoid being PC and tell it like it is :^)
Wants to stop cyberbullying and yet she's married to someone who's been bullying everyone that doesn't sing his praises for his entire life like the fat, orange manchild he is.
as far as first lady pet projects go this is probably the dumbest
as far as first lady pet projects go this is probably the dumbest
Can't top nancy reagan's
not very surprising she pulls this, shes fuck ugly
not very surprising she pulls this, shes fuck ugly
That's not very nice.
well, it's certainly contradictory when her husband is actively using social media to insult and she hasn't done anything about it
Lots of people insulted Trump so I guess it's learned behavior. He also wouldn't get so far if Trump would just be polite.
If she can get her husband to shut up, she's guaranteed to get anyone to shut up.

Well, maybe you have to look this from another angle. Lately I've been hearing a lot about "the left" are the real bullies, calling honest people bigots, swapping free speech for PC speech, cultivating white guilt, etc. If she goes by Trump's playbook, she's using Trump supporters' victim complex to tell what counts and what doesn't as bullying. On the other hand, trumpets' comments are "straight talk", "free speech" and "telling like it is". Anything is possible if you have strong enough a double standard.
And when I'm Prime Minster of Australia, I'll put a stop to all randsomeware .... somehow, of course I can't reveal the details of the plan until after I'm elected, but's it's a really great a plan and it'll work.
