He is clearly a highly intelligent fellow.
I think in the Arab spring or some other riot/revolt, there was a huge crowd of people shining lasers on a police helicopter. Like the whole thing was lit up with thousands of green dots, it was amazing.
I'd just like to warn everyone to not read the comments.
Ha someone summarised the comments in a nutshell.
1) blinding pilots is a good thing, fuck pilots
2) they were wrong to arrest the kid who blinded pilots, fuck the cops
3) why was there a police chopper over the city? fuck the government
4) fuck the jews too
5) fuck everyone, I am a loser and I hate absolutely EVERYONE
That's everything down there in the comments, don't bother. •
why dont you do during they day? they won't find you
On my first night flight lesson someone tried this on our plane, but fortunately they only ever got the left wing.
Isn't it possible to develop some kind of special glass or fleuret for the cockpits or helmets that somehow filters laser beams?
I think the biggest issue is that a huge amount of people that buy those high powered green lasers don't realize that it doesn't appear as a dot in an airplane cockpit. I think if you wanna buy a high powered laser you should have to take an online class or something / have to watch that video of what laser light looks like to pilots

Imagine being in that helicopter
Anyone else think that's a bit of a cruel punishment? Pretty sure you could rape and murder someone and get off with less.

I've heard multiple instances of rapists getting absolutely no time in prison, regardless of them openly confessing to the crime.

Holy shit, must have been hell for that pilot.
Not sure why people are getting 14 year sentences for this
I guarantee you that almost all the cases of this happening are just because some nerd bought a cool new laser toy and is curious if he can see it on a helicopter from miles away, just like how you might shine it on a cloud for the same reason.
I really doubt many people know laser pointers are a serious threat
