Why do you think so though?

The medical and technological advances because of it were pretty hardcore, maybe we wouldn't of had stuff like Radar or Jet Aircraft had WWII not happen.
As much as you'd like to change the past, you might not enjoy the new future as much.
The thing that I love the most of whenever Hitler's art is brought up, everyone immediately becomes a high-class critic who knows everything about art.
A failed painter really, he never made it into The academy of fine arts in Vienna.
This never made much sense to me. Apparently he wasn't good enough but you'd think him not being good enough is the entire reason he should be at an academy in the first place?

You don't have to be a chef to tell someone their veal tastes like dog shit, you don't need to be an art professor to tell Hitler his paintings look mediocre.

Hitler's paintings just remind me of somethin' my Grandma would hang on her wall when I was little. Makes me a little nostalgic but my Grandma also didn't have an XBOX so I associate that stuff with 'fucking boring'
Why do you think so though?
Well, WWII really was a war to end all (big) wars. We're enjoying relatively much more peaceful time partly because no one wants anything like that to repeat. Besides, the tensions in the world were quite high even without Nazis, so something would've happened anyway, and who's to say it wouldn't have been even worse?

The Soviet Union would have started invading shit if the Nazi's didn't, and Japan was already doing that when 1939 rolled around. The world was all fucky back then and the only thing that could have solved it was by murdering like 60 million people across the globe.
His paintings were mediocre/average, it's understandable he was never accepted in an academy because he could never work out the basics like perspective (while doing a lot of stupid mistakes like painting stairs that clipped through windows).
But hey at least he was good at painting foliage.
That could easily be Craptasket's next avatar
craptasket please
And all he had to do was start WW2 and attempt to exterminate the jews.

Well Hitler's life as a painter was way before he went into politics, I don't think he ever painted a Swastika anywhere.
I don't know, was the swastika a symbol used Germany before Hitler came into power?

I heard one of the main criticism was that he wasn't that good at drawing living things.

uhhh
yeah lets burn valuable art because we don't like the person who made it
well I think that his paintings look really good, people seem to hold him up to some ridiculous standard, just cause under his regime a lot of people died doesn't mean you can slander his paintings
To think if they let him in the entirety of WW2 may have been avoided
The Soviets would of started it, or some other crazy dictator in Germany
Or the Japanese
I love all the comments proclaiming that these works should be burned. Sure they are kinda boring, and not unlike the paintings found in a retirement home, but they are still historic pieces.
Sure it ties in to a dark chapter in human history, but wouldn't it be wrong to proclaim that these things never happened?

You can criticize his art if you don't like it, regardless of dictator status or not.
"mr.Hitler, you've made it! Your paintings are a huge succe- oh...."
I bet he's looking down, or up depending on how you look at it, and thinking
"yea nigga"
I'm like "Kill!" and the Jews be like "Chill.."

just buttmad SJWs trying to get attention
fuck em, nobody cares what they think. Burning these paintings is completely illogical given their historical significance.

yeah but the issue is that people are expecting him to be some artistic god, like come on people

Because we should burn all the records and mementos that remind us of bad times and bad people in human history. Why don't we just delete Hitler from the history books entirely?
do the world a favor and burn all your possessions when you die so we don't have to remember your stupidity

The swastika was used in many places before the nazi regime. Going back to ancient Rome and further

We'd have all of those things now, and perhaps some more. Also, both jet aircraft and radar were developed before WW2. One of the biggest falsehoods is that war stimulates technological development (it doesn't). We are living in one of the most peaceful times in human history, and considering what has been invented and created in the past 20 years alone is incredible to say the least.
I'm of the opinion that the world today would have been much better off had both world wars never happened.

Keep in mind that World War II pulled America out of the Great Depression.
We also used former Nazi scientists for our space program iirc.

The Nazis actually held back technology in Germany, they focused everything into making war machines and neglected other scientific areas. Then there's also the fact that they burned any research that didn't agree with Nazi doctrine.
Keep in mind that World War II pulled America out of the Great Depression.
It didn't. Recovery began in 1933 with the New Deal, and the economy improved to the former peak by 1940.
Additionally, the development of rocketry was started by German scientists before the Nazis came to power. The development of spacecraft would have happened without the war.
