As an autistic myself, I have to comment on this, as I do believe that there are two wrongs which don't add up:
Admittedly, as an activist for those with special needs, I do sympathise with the views of Sarah Palin and how she could take offence to the content. However what people need to realise is that saitre parodies are there for a purpose, which is to cause offence for the sake of hilarity.
There's a major difference between being genuinely offensive and disablist, compared to the humourous side.
For the record, I laughed at the disablism in this, and infact have said on some Facebook pages which seek to remove the disablism that people should understand the difference between offending someone and making a comedy out of something. (Which has sadly brought many of the radicals to send abusive messages)
People need to laugh at their own difficulties just as much as they need to stop injustices.
So long as people can act appropriately to society in real life and can hold some basic respect and courtesy for fellow disabled folk outside the media spotlight, than there is no reason why such things should be censored.
Bottom line, Sarah Palin is perfectly right to complain and challenge such things (and should be commended for such), but a bit of tolerance should be taken from both parties in the first place.
They aren't mocking Palin, they are mocking the former/future former Governor of Alaska.
